Purchased it two months ago, was happy with it because I could use it in places where no light was available. Today, all of a sudden it froze, screen unsensitive, reset button did nothing. I am extremely disappointed, until now I was a Kobo-fan, no more.

I have invested 129. (Kobo Glo) + 40. (sleep cover) + 50. (books) = $219. in my husband's Kobo Glo and it lasted only 3 months. BOTTOM LINE: the sleep cover did not protect the fragile "inner screen" from cracking as a result of moderate pressure (it was never dropped). I would caution all Kobo Glo owners and prospective owners to never carry their sleep-covered Kobo Glo in a purse or bag since even moderate pressure could crack the extremely fragile "inner screen". This is a "bedside table only" e-reader. Note also that after 10 days from purchase date, Indigo/Chapters will not stand behind this product.

The Kobo Glo I gave my husband for Christmas is broken after only 3 months. It has been housed in the Kobo Glo protective case sold by Chapters and has never been dropped or handled roughly. I had no idea it would prove to be so much more fragile than my Kindle Paperwhite. The on-line Kobo Customer Care Team says that the "inner screen" is broken and therefore the warranty is void. They will not repair or replace the item. The Customer Care representative at the Chapters store where I purchased it says that now that Chapters has sold the Kobo company, we can't expect Chapters to replace it. I am disappointed. I expected Chapters to stand behind what they sell.

After several years with the original Kobo, I got the Glo for Xmas and I loved it. 2 weeks ago it stopped syncing and wouldn't do a factory reset. Calling Kobo customer service was useless. I had already done everything they told me to do, including reinstalling the Kobo desktop software and Adobe Digital Editions. Apparently I was "escalated" to tier 2, and 2 days later got an email instructing me to do all the steps I had already done! Useless. The rep I had spoken to hadn't recorded all the relevant info (I could see the original email he had of our conversation). I called Kobo again and said I wanted a replacement as I had had enough. The rep took my info. and said my issue was again "escalated'. That was over a week ago and I've heard nothing since. I sent yet another email yesterday and I'm hoping to hear back but I don't have much hope considering the many bad reviews I've read online. Beware that the company doesn't stand behind its products and good luck getting anything done about an issue, whether it's under warranty or not. What happened to the days when you could walk into a Chapter's/Indigo store and the product would be replaced? I am so dissatisfied with Kobo and wouldn't buy another device from them again. The service was so much better when Kobo was a small Canadian company. I had to give 2 stars because I enjoyed the original Kobo and the Glo was good while it lasted.

I received my Kobo Glo for Christmas and I love it! I wanted to make the jump into an ereader but was waiting for one with a built in light, so the Glo is perfect for me. Using the sync function with my wireless has been quick and easy. The intensity of the light can be customize and is perfect for reading in bed. No strain or stress on my eyes at all. I am extremely happy with the Glo.

This eReader would be great if downloading books after purchase wasn't such a nightmare. Oh, and the Kobo desktop loves to crash. Taking your money to purchase your books is never a problem but getting the book into your library then eventually (which can take forever) into your eReader is when the "fun" really begins. I've only had the eReader for two weeks now, and due to the downloading headaches I regret purchasing it. It's unfortunate because once the books decide to download in your library and finally download unto the eReader it's a great product and I actually don't miss hard books. But customer service at Kobo was great and did address one of my download problems rather quickly.

I bought this for myself as a birthday present in November, at first I wasn't sure about switching from paper to electronic as well as which eReader to buy. I did a lot of research and the Glo had the best reviews for it's price range. I have to say after having it for 3 months I can't live without it, I am reading a lot more now because of the wonderful glo light for reading in bed as well as it's size, it is easy to take everywhere. I would highly recommend this product!

I bought myself a Kobo Glo for X-Mas and I love it. My husband loves it too since I don't have to have a light to read at night in our bed. After viewing some negative reviews, I wasn't too sure to purchase it but after using it for almost 2 months, I would recommand it to anybody who wants to switch from paper to electronic. Can't live without it anymore.

The Kobo Glow is all that it claims and more. I have loaded 50 books and purchased some of my favourites and it is great to have them at my fingertips. I did have my first Kobo Glo freeze up and it was not possible to reset it in any way. Chapters Victoria, without any hassle, replaced it immediately - now that is customer service!

This is my first e-reader. My wife has had a Sony PRS-650 for two years, and it too is terrific. However, since this has a built-in light, it is the one I went with. I have not been disappointed. From the moment I took it out of the box and connected it to my Mac, I have had zero issues. It connects flawlessly, and charges quickly. It is a breeze to use, and page turns are very, very fast. The light works flawlessly, and is bright enough on even the lowest setting. I cannot recommend this product enough. I am an officer in the RCN, and take this with me to sea. I bought the leather sleep cover to go with it, and am very happy with the combination of products.
