Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I just received it on Friday and I just can't get enough of it. The setup was really easy. If I had questions, I just clicked on the Kobo Help icon. I played a movie and it looks and sounds great with or without headphones. I have a lot to learn still, but I'm enjoying every minute of it. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tablet for low price! I received a kobo mini for Christmas but had to return because of a technical problem. So I did some research and decided to put up the extra money and upgrade to this. I've had the Arc for nearly a week and I am extremely happy with it! Clean crisp image, very fast, very accessible. The only drawback is that it doesn't have a rear camera making it hard to take pictures, and some apps (though very few) are incompatible. But other than that this is great for people who want a tablet without the hefty price tag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from love it hate the customer service I have had my device for 8 months and loved it. just this past week it will sometimes charge and then today will not connect to charge because of the port. I called chapters who told me not their problem to call kobo I called kobe they said it was chapters problem because it was still under the one year warrenty so called chapters back they said nope after 30 days its kobo's issue called kobo back and they will look into it but they think its chapters issue! by the time this is resolved the warrenty will be expired. I love the arc but sooo not worth this .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good deal! Got this on sale. 64 gig for 25% off. It's affordable and just what I need. the amount of storage is great and the OS is easy to use. transfering files it a breeze. The tablet can stutter a littler bit but it's not a major thing. Running on a older version of Android does limit you on the amount of apps you can have but that's something I'm willing to let go for getting such a great deal on the unit. The speaker in the front is great. sound is awesome!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tablet bad service Just wanted to say that this item is amazing. I love it for the apps and the wi fi access. So easy to download things, great apps. Unfortunately when I had problems getting the device to charge I had to contact the Kobo team. I have had several emails and phone calls. I was told the replacement had been shipped on the 17th of July. I called this evening to find out the reason they had not sent me a tracking order number, which I requested several times via phone and email was because the replacement had not been sent. So I have been waiting for this item, when in all reality it will be closer to a month before I get it. Even then I am not guaranteed because they will not answer emails for tracking numbers etc. Love the device but pointless if the technical follow up is lacking. May have to consider changing to something more supported.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I found a reason to buy a tablet I put off getting a tablet because I didn't see a need for one. I already had an e-reader, laptop, desktop and smartphone. It would have to be a good tablet at a good price to make me buy it. I have years of Kobo e-reader experience and know the quality of their products, their portability and the ease of loading books and other text. The e-reader portion of the Arc offers lots of useful controls for finding sections of your book quickly, highlighting, definitions, readability and so on. The tablet portion of the Arc is big enough and powerful enough to make offline work comfortable - bigger than a smartphone and more portable than a laptop. When I do connect online, I can quickly upload my work or update my social media. I've synced my Arc to my desktop email, so I can update and respond whenever I am WiFi connected. When reading a book that references a person, company, website or blog, I can go search that reference online right then, if I am in a WiFi spot. With no data plan required for online access, the cost is very attractive and free WiFi spots are much more readily available now. I will often listen to my music when reading on my Arc. The sound quality from both the front speakers and the headset are very good; much better than my granddaughters' ipads. Downloading apps from the Google Play Store works very efficiently and anyone familiar with the Android platform from their smartphone will find navigating the system a breeze. I really like my Kobo Arc. It is fast, functional and good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME!!!! :D I bought the my Kobo back in March and since then I've been reading comic books on it for an average of 30 min to 1 hour a day. I love it! Perfect viewer and ComiXology runs great on it. I thought that my eyes would get tired (like when you read on a computer screen) but so far that hasn't been a problem. The resolution is incredible... if you want something to read comics, you want the 215 ppi resolution. It is super fluid! The battery life is also pretty awesome! I charge it every week and a half. Of course it does all the other standard thing a tablet does thanks to Google Play (Store)... facebook, gmail... and all the other things really well. It is fast and never crashed on me! All in all, this was a great bought at a great price and I would definitively recommend this if you want to read comic books (or e-books or e-newspaper). What are you waiting for buy it!!!! And the new Batman (The new 52) series... :p

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best $200 tablet in my opinion. I love this device! It does everything I need - I can read, watch movies, listen to music, and browse the web with comfort and ease. First of all, a price tag of $200 is very reasonable for a tablet, and if you dig deeper, all the specs you are getting with the Kobo arc are really quite good even next to more expensive tablets. What made this tablet stand apart from the others is the fact that you can really make it your own. Out of box, it's simple and easy to use but I have found myself really loving tapestries. You can tinker and customise the layout to your heart's content. Other devices force you to go fishing through screens and screens of gridlock apps by the dozens...with this, you can literally preview scroll through your email without going into it. You can be at your favorite article in one tap. The discover bar was weird at first, but it has grown on me. Sometimes the reccomendations can be ridiculous (ie reccomending 50 shades of grey over and over) but with time it seems to be more on the money. Usually I am too lazy to research best selling books in my interest categories and this puts them right in the palm of my hand. Overall I can't reccomend it enough. I think it suffers from an overcrowded 7" tablet market, otherwise it would be more popular...but for what it is, what you get, and the android system...it's awesome. It's easy to use, compatible with basically everything, and holds up to the needs of light users and enthusiasts alike. I think the only reason anyone could think they require an Apple brand product over this would be because they want to do heavy duty gaming (on a tablet? seriously?) or because iPads are shinier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loving it BUT..... I had the KOBO touch and lost it, then thought it'd be cool to have an inter-active ereader. I bought my Kobo Arc right after Christmas. I've not had any problems with anything yet. My only concern is, I can't read it outside, there's way too much glare. Since I love reading outside in the summer, does anybody have any suggestions?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Service exemplary I am referring to the staff at Chapters in Waterloo. They are the most helpful people I have met in a long, long time. I read a review that panned Kobo regarding a problem with an Arc reader. We had a similar situation with a Mini, It was :dead: The solution was given by Shawn? It just needed resetting. Perhaps the same solution will help Kate. Thanks to a Chapters manager. who took the time to help us.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Such a disappointment I purchased myself a new Kobo Arc 3 weeks ago ... today it wouldn't charge. After speaking to Kobo customer service I was advised that it was my problem and to purchase a new one. Needless to say that won't be happening.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So So I have the Kobo touch but frequently read at night so I wanted the Kobo Glo (was going thru too many booklight batteries). My husband bought me the Arc as he was informed that I could read at night on it and he thought I would like to have the tablet option as well. I ended up returning it as I found that while it's a great tablet, it is at the detrement of the Kobo e-reader part. It has a computer screen so the glare is hard on your eyes after awhile. The actual Kobo Touch, Glo and Mini all have a non-glare e-reader screen. Much easier to read on. Also, the "night" reading solution of the Arc is to change from white background and black font to a black background and white font. Yuck, hard on the eyes and not pleasant to read on at all. Plus you have to go into settings each time you want to change to night reading. The Glo has a built in light and it's simple to access buy a button on the top. Way better if you read allot at night. I also didn't care for the "tapestry" feature of the Arc. I found it annoying. So the Arc great if you simply want a tablet and your main use is not e-reading. However if e-reading is your main use, I suggest the Glo or the Touch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for it's price I love the kobo arc, especially since it was half the price of the ipad mini. I have read many books on it already and have no issues, I love that you get options on how you want to view reading, and most books are cheaper. My only concern is that when i'm on my kobo, sometimes it just goes into sleep mode on me for no reason...other then that it's been great so far.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from i love it...but I got the Kobo Arc three months ago, and Iove it for the most part. I find myself charging it every day(which is not a complaint because I use the wifi a lot). The problem is sometimes tapestries just stops, a thing pops up saying "Unfortunately Tapestries has stopped". This happens every day, and I don't know what to do, because Kobo customer support isn't helping. I was wondering, is it free to call them? Anyways, I've had to factory reset it, because the home screen just wasn't working, and now I accidentally locked myself out of it, the only way to get 'in" it is to sign in with your google account. The problem is, the wifi on my eReader wasn't on. Sorry this is so long, but aside from its faults, I still love it, but if you're buying one, beware. I'm thinking of going to the store today to ask about this stuff..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my Kobo Arc This is my first tablet and I made my decision after considerable internet research. It does all the usual tablet things but was much less expensive than some others.I liked the Kobo policy that once you buy an ebook it it yours to read or share across other devices. It would be nice to have a rear facing camera as well as front. The sturdy bezel makes it easy to hold. The front facing speakers work well but the sound is even better with headphones of course. The "Tapestry" feature is really just a folder system. My only criticism would be the Discovery ribbon. It is just really annoying and takes up space on the home screen. I really don't need Kobo to tell me what I should be interested in. Kobo should seriously consider deleting this feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A surprisingly decent option for people looking for a mid-range Android tablet... So it's no Nexus 7, and it's definitely no iPad mini. But it still is surprisingly good. Hardware and specs-wise, it's a strong value; its dual-core 1.5 Ghz TI OMAP 4470 is the same powering the Kindle Fire HD 8.9", and at 1 GB of RAM it has double the memory of the iPad mini. The CPU's on-board graphics are courtesy of the PowerVR SGX 544 (a more advanced version of the GPU in the Apple A5/A5X). That all means that ICS, for the most part, runs very, very well. (With some occasional hiccups, particularly with the stock Browser.) With a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 (same as with the N7 - and even my MacBook!), it looks good, too. Battery life isn't on par with the iPad mini, but it is fairly impressive given its price range. I use my Arc more like a mini-computer, and I got about roughly 7-8 hours' worth of continuous use with it, doing tasks like installing apps from the Google Play store, RSS/email, social media, and web video. The unit itself is pretty solid, and it feels good in the hand. Its also nice to see the speakers on the front of the device instead of on the sides. Sure, it's uglier, but at least doing anything even remotely audio-related is actually meaningful. Unfortunately, by putting fantastic hardware, a good screen, and a good battery into a product at this price point, something had to give. Omissions like an Micro SD card slot and a rear camera are annoying; I'm not terribly bothered by the lack of a rear camera, but the Arc doesn't have an excuse for lacking expandable storage, as even my $73 D2pad tablet has a Micro SD card slot. Perhaps more galling is the lack of Bluetooth and USB OTG, which preclude the use of external USB storage, and USB keyboards. Even more frustrating is that USB charging should almost always be done via the wall adapter; the Arc apparently draws only a tiny amount of current from a computer's USB ports; again, even my cheap D2pad can charge off of USB! There's also Kobo's launcher, with its Last.fm-esque "Tapestries" feature. While it does work, it gives me really odd suggestions, with random web graphics and weird book suggestions coming out of nowhere. Several times its repeatedly crashed. There's also the lack of an update to 4.2, or even 4.1.x. For crying out loud, what's taking you so long? In general: Pros: Good build quality and battery life, impressive overall performance, full access to Google Play store, and good front facing camera. Screen quality is good for the price. Cons: Custom Kobo launcher/"Tapestries" feature of dubious utility (and displays some minor bugginess). No SD card slot. No rear camera. No Bluetooth or USB OTG, and it effectively doesn't charge itself over a computer's USB ports (!?). Where's our Jellybean update, Kobo!? In conclusion, the Arc is, in my experience, a good, solid choice for people who can't afford the iPad mini or the Nexus 7, but want and expect far more than what the $99 tablet brigade can provide. Once the Kindle Fire HD and HP's new Slate 7 hit the Canadian market, things will change, but for now, the Kobo Arc is a great choice for Canadians looking for an affordable mid-range Android tablet that does most of what the competition can do (or, for those who missed out on the BlackBerry PlayBook bonanza like me). That being said, despite my recommendations, potential buyers would do well to be aware of some of the hardware reliability issues people have encountered with the Arc. In my experience though (~1+ month), I've encountered no problems with my unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved it but becoming unsure... I bought the 16GB as soon as it became available. I had to exchange my first one within a week because the pixels were going in the screen. I have now had my second one for a little over a month and a half and now it doesn't hold a charge for as long as the specs say it should and now my tapestries are not working. I went in a deleted a few things and they are still not working. I'm wondering if anyone else is having similar problems and what can I do about this??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Kobo! This is a great piece of technology! At first I was little iffy about purchasing seeing as I am one that likes reading from a physical book rather than downloads, but I am glad I took the leap and purchased! You have internet, facebook, youtube, and multiple apps at your finger tips! The only thing I find annoying is the battery life as it can drain quicker when I am browsing the internet. I take the device almost everywhere with me! I would highly recommend this ereader to anyone and everyone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LOVE IT! I was so excited to get the Arc for a christmas gift! Luckily i was also given the wifi set up so i could turn it on and get the update. Think that it was stupid that the reader was not already up to date! I had a bit of a hard time navigating at first and still don't really understand how to pin or what tapestries are all about but am learning! It would of been great if a user manual came with the Arc so I could just read up and start using! I love the apps that i can download and have downloaded a ton of free books already (and have read a ton!) My one large beef is that the arc has a hard time with wi-fi outside of home or work, we were at a hotel with free wi-fi and could not download anything to do on the net; was very disappointed! I have synce my LG android phone with the tablet and that works great! so far I lover the Arc for reading and the battery power is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tablet but Indigo is dodgy After researching 7" tablets I decided to buy the Kobo Arc over the Nexus 7 for my son for Christmas. the Nexus 7 has a faster processor but the Arc's screen and build quality seemed much better to me. I was not disappointed. The Arc is very robust and certainly fast enough. My son loves it and uses it as much as we let him. The screen is bright and vivid and Android is very stable. The Kobo UI is acceptable but not amazing. Don't buy it just for the sake of the tapestries. There's no bluetooth so if you need that go for the Nexus. I'm sure my son won't need it. My only bad experience with the Arc was with the promotions from Indigo. Although I bought the device with a promotion for a $20 gift card, they never sent it. And when I asked them about it their CSR told me that my purchase was ineligble for the gift card because it was on backorder. It was definitely listed as In Stock when I ordered it so this just seems like a scam. I've read of others who never got the promotional items so Indigo is definitely pulling a fast one. Conclusion: Get the Arc, it's great! But DON'T buy it from Indigo, go to Best Buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Not grammatically correct but...ER MER GERD!!!!!! I am in love. Honestly I like to do research before I purchase something but with previously owning a Kobo touch, and loving it as well, I thought an upgrade to the Arc was necessary. Very well done................my new book is loaded..............to excited to keep typing. Happy Reading.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purchased a Kobo Arc And I am truly enjoying it. I previously had a Vox but found it extremely slow. The Arc is much faster, the screens are more vibrant and very easy to follow. I have a lot more apps on it, love the lighting functions and the one thing that I love most ... is the battery life! I can go an entire day of picking it up and looking at my ebooks, or social networks and not have to plug it in. I actually read for a few hours and it was still going strong. I think that the Arc is a much better option in an ereader and I got the Mini for free!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving it As a kobo touch owner, I just purchased the kobo 16gb Arc for my husband as a Christmas gift. After watching him explore this kobo and loving it, I became more interested in it as well.So recently I purchased one for myself. My concerns and questions are: I am confused that when I ordered the Arc it was advertised that upon purchase of any kobo arc, you would recieve a free kobo mini. Never recieved one. I am also wondering how to connect this new kobo arc to my existing kobo account. Any feedback would be great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HELP isn't so helpful I received a Kobo Arc for Christmas and I love it. BUT I can't get my e mail connected. I tried calling Bell and they don't support it. I tried "chat" with Kobo yesterday and that didn't go very far but she said she would send me an e mail with the steps. I didn't get it. I phoned yesterday afternoon and the person I talked to didn't really know how to do this. He said he would send me an e mail with the steps. Didn't get it. I phoned today and the person I spoke to didn't know how to do it. I was tellling her the steps. She said she would send me an e mail with the steps. We shall see. Does anyone know how to get an Arc connected to a Sympatico account?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No WiFi, Can't connect I received an Arc for Christmas and was so excited until I went to set it up and found I couldn't because I don't have wi-fi! I tried connecting through my computer like I can with the mini to download but that didn't work either. So now I have a wonderful gift I can't use unlness someone can tell me how to get it to talk to my computer which connects to the internet through a stick. I tried the HELP and it wasn't helpful at all. I guess I may have to give up and return it. Moral of this story is, if you don't have wi-fi available at home and no one can tell you how to make your stick work with it, don't buy this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Christmas Present Ever!!!!!! I got this from my parents yesterday and was so excited. I also got some gift cards, and a case(which is awesome- see below for recommendation). It is so amazing, I downloaded 2 books and am half way through the first. The reading experience is amazing. The games you can get are amazing. You can get your email, search on the internet, get facebook, twitter, movies, songs. go on youtube, get recommendations on books. This is the best tablet out there for readers who also want to have a little fun with all the other things I mentioned above. Thanks Kobo, This made me so happy :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! I am so totally in love with my Arc. After having a regular Kobo touchscreen for a little over a month, I saw the Arc advertised and it was love at first sight. And so, I eagerly purchased one a little over three weeks ago (black 64 GB) and gave the touch screen to my teenage daughter who loves her new "toy" just as much as I love mine. It does everything I expected it to do and more! I do wonder if I need a Virus scanner as I do browse the Internet with it.... Could someone answer this for me?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, rivals the iPad Mini. This tablet is only 200$, but it rivals the technical specifications of the iPad Mini. It's got amazing high def, every game I play on it looks great. Tapestries is beautiful and easy to use. I went and downloaded the Go Launcher, but uninstalled it due to the ease of using tapestries. It's great. Watching shows and movies is better than on my laptop due to the crystal clear sound and hi def picture. I am so glad I got this little tablet. Great job, Kobo!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disapointed I just received my new Arc and at first, I was very pleased with the product. I had not problem turning it on, navigating through the different screens, adding apps, etc. However, I cannot get the device to connect with my computer, or any other for that matter. My computer does not recognize the Arc... Only for that reason I am thinking of returning the Arc and getting a refund since I was certain I could copy files like music and pictures from my computer to my Arc. Has anyone else experienced the same problem and how did you solve it? Thanks!

Rated out of 5 by from @Maryse - There are lots of differences. Kobo has spent a lot of time listening to customers and making improvements. The Kobo Arc is faster, has an improved screen, and runs the latest version of Android which is optimized for tablets. As well, features like the Discovery Ribbon and Tapestry are exclusive to this device and can really enhance the user experience.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I thought I was so excited to receive the kobo arc despite problems in actually finding one that was not 16gb. The main reason I purchased the Arc over other ereaders was due to its ability to read books from other stores. We have spent the last 3 days trying to just get any computer to even recognise the Arc with no success. It has been extremely frustrating. Nothing has worked so it seems I am now limited to books only available through the kobo store which defeats the purpose of purchasing the Arc. Additionally we purchased the Arc online while it was in stock during the $20 gift card promotion and never received this either. Apart from the above the Arc is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!! Ordered it a week ago, last Monday, and I received it via Canada Post by lunch on Tuesday! I took it out of the box, turned it on, and away I went. It allowed me to easily sign in to my existing WI-FI. It was 1/2 charged and I was prompted to upgrade, which it did, with no problems. I was expecting an eReader with a few extras, not realizing it was just like buying an andriod tablet. Now i can be reading and rec notifications that i have new email, msgs from Facebook and more! I was even able to download the free Magic Jack app, and since I already have an acct with them, I can receive or send phone calls right on my Kobo Arc. I have not had any problems with it at all, and I use it several hours a day. I would recommend the Kobo Arc to anyone who loves reading, and who may also have thought about getting a tablet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect! I'm a first time tablet user and read any reviews and specs for other tablets before deciding on the Kobo Arc 32GB white. When I first received it I freaked out. The brochure that comes with it, in pictograms and very few words said to plug in, press power button briefly and follow onscreen instructions. Many like myself will experience something completely different when trying that. What the brochure won't tell the user is that the battery, if completely drained, the power button or unit will not respond. My unit flashed on very briefly as did an orange light and then stopped responding. I phoned Chapters and was told to let it charge for a minimum of 2 hours, just leaving it plugged in. I then found the online guide for the ARC which said to hold power button for 3 to 4 seconds. (It's only a brief tap after that when waking up unit if it goes to sleep) Phew! that worked. Then I followed onscreen instructions and was taken to automatic updates which took awhile and was a very sizable file...almost 300mb! It wasn't Jelly Bean. Wondering why such a sizable update couldn't have been done before shipping from the Factory with such a brand spanking new gizmo... As for storage capacity...I chose the 32 GB, but when I checked the settings, after all the things the ARC comes with, one will find themselves with about 26GB and with no media card slot. In hindsight I kind of wish I had chosen the 64, but 26GB is still a lot of room. Not having a media card slot, I read there is a workaround and one can get a USB/card reader adapter and an App to use a storage media card. Found this on a Nexus 7 thread. I give the the Kobo ARC 4 stars because although there is a USB charger included, there is no micro USB to USB connector cable for the computer which is necessary to move files, photos or movies. The Kobo ARC guide says this cable is included! It is not. And the guide itself is also not included. I tried reading the pdf guide on my laptop and moving to and fro between pages is ridiculous, so I fit 4 each the 86 pages onto 23 pages and printed them out. I think that at very least a guide should be included so that the initial reaction of phoning support won't happen...I think their phone lines will be busy for a while...other than that...'Almost perfect'.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shipping Clusterf$%k... I bought this as my mother's retirement gift. The black friday deal said it's delivered in 3-9 days. The pre-order review said 2-4 days. I made my purchase and the confirmation said ships in 1-2 weeks, wtf? I check the status 3 days later and it hasn't shipped yet. I call customer service and they say there won't be any available for at least 2 weeks and they're uncertain as to when it will actually ship. Stick with Amazon.ca, they're online store hasn't let me down yet.

The light beside the power button is on (and a kind of orange-y colour) but when I press the button (or hold the button) nothing happens. Has anyone else had the same problem? And yes...I am pressing the correct power button located at the top of the device.

Rated out of 5 by from @Teresa - The two models are slightly different sizes - I'd recommend trying the cover out before you buy. Lots of Arc specific covers and accessories are on the way. @Laura - The Arc uses a standard micro USB connector. Suitable cables can be found at many electronics retailers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really love it! If you are thinking of upgrading from the Vox - go for it! I am so glad that I did. The Arc is zippy, colour is great, lots of apps (Netflix ran very smoothly), and very easy to use. It is really great for reading magazines and newspapers and handy for reading books - however I also have the Kobo Glo as my dedicated reader (easier on the eyes if you read long periods). Love that it has a camera - looking forward to trying it out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dead Pixels I was pretty excited to receive my arc in the mail today. All was going well in the setup until I noticed that there was a dead pixel in the screen. Then a few minutes later, another pixel started acting up. I hope the solution will be as easy as taking it into my nearby Indigo to have this unit replaced. Besides that, I love the flow of the OS and it is running pretty flawlessly.

I've been reading my magazines on my computer, and I was worried that by going to an even smaller screen that I would have a hard time reading the print, but it is so clear, I don't have any problems. I also love that it has a camera so that I can Skype with it!

The Arc has gotten very good reviews so far and the Android release it is based on has been reviewed very well too. I'd encourage you to check the new machine out in stores and see what you think. Rated out of 5 by from Will this one work better and last longer than last years Kobo Vox??? I'm very hesitant to buy another Kobo colour product after my Vox experience. I've had it since last Xmas and in the last month or so have had nothing but problems with it freezing constantly!!!!!! I've called customer service and they told me to do factory reboot, I did that and now I have other issues and errors that pop up that don't even allow me to use the keyboard. I am beyond frustrated with this because I only have about 15 books on it and maybe 5 apps. Pathetic.

Rated out of 5 by from Not impressed at all with how this pre-order was handled. I called the store where mine was ordered three times over three days to see if it was in and was told no, every time. I finally decided to just go and get my money back and purchase it somewhere else, so i went to the store and spoke with the manager. When he looked up my order, the Arc had been there for two days! I asked him why i hadn't gotten a call or an e-mail and he said they don't like to do that until there was a few per-orders to pick up(like six or seven) and that since they only had a few( three or four) they were waiting until then. Since it was a gift i needed, i took my order then but i will NEVER do a pre-order like this again. Total mismanagement

If you pre ordered a unit already your order has been filled and is in transit or may have already arrived. All stores in our initial wave of stock have their store stock on the way if you would like to see the device in person before deciding. If the model you want has in stock status then your delivery time will be 1 business day plus the time associated with the shipping method you choose.

Rated out of 5 by from @ Diane - The Arc is a new model tablet computer and ereader from Kobo. It uses a newer version of the Android operating system. The new OS has a lot of new functions and capabilities, but it required more up to date hardware in order to provide a great customer experience. The Arc has been designed from the ground up to give that great experience, and the more capable hardware also allowed Kobo to build exclusive functionality like the Discovery ribbon that wouldn't have been possible with the Vox. @Ashley Netflix's app has been updated to support the version of Android that runs the new Arc. For more information, http://blog.netflix.com/2011/12/android-ice-cream-sandwich-gets-netflix.html has everything you need to know. @Jennifer If you purchase the Arc from us and you are within the initial return time frame you can simply return it to any store for a refund or exchange. After that Kobo gives a 1 year warranty against manufacturers defects and you would contact them directly for any service related issue.

Rated out of 5 by from Hi, just wanted to answer some of the most recent questions posted! In reply to Rissa and Jane's question about colour choices - The Arc will be sold in black and white only, but Kobo will be making coloured interchangeable snap backs. These are great optional accessories that let you differentiate and personalize your device. In answer to Rissa's question about the type of display - Arc is a tablet computer that provides a great Kobo reading experience but is also versatile and powerful enough to run the hundreds of thousands of apps available in the Google Play app store. To be able to display so many different kinds of content, from movies to video calls to full colour picture books, the Arc has an LCD display. It's a very high resolution (1280x800) display capable of reproducing 16 million colours. These types of displays are not interchangeable with the type used by the Mini and the Glo, which both use what is called electronic ink, or e-Ink to show content. Rianna asks about in store availability, and we will know more when Kobo is able to give a specific release date, so stay tuned!
