Rated 4 out of 5 by from my love has gone away! Got the old arc last year from my husbands Christmas party. We don't even have cell phones so we were not sure about thus tablet stuff. But in no time I download games and videos, videos for new cooking recipes and canning! Oh and it was a great help when I planted a bunch of huckleberry here! So happy that I could face chat with the husband when he would go out of Provence on business. But last week when he had to go to Quebec an hour after he left this love of my life would not lost me type, zoom in ir out! And yes it types gibberish for me! Lol typing all this has made me ever so slightly crazy from having to correct its mistakes! Never have had port issues, only the ones mentioned! Battery life is really good, but no it when it comes to videos. I plug this guy into the TV so I can excersize and see the screen. Always have to make sure its freshly charged or it runs out and then starts to charge from the t.v. Normally would be fine but every 19 second the screen on the tablet and the t.v flash an hour glass! Annoying! I recommend it cause I love it, but this new one we shall see! Lol

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great - but only for 11 months Same familiar problem, USB port is no longer working and I can not get my Kobo charged. Not even a year old. Seems to be a popular problem when googling it. Otherwise a great product for the price, can watch movies, play games and of course read! I loved my Kobo while it lasted! Gave it only two stars because the common USB port issue really makes it a disposable item after just a few months. Otherwise I'd five star it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I loved this, for a while. I loved this product, until the charging port failed just as the warranty was finished. Seems it a common problem in reading other reviews and talking with other users. Until this issue is resolved, I won't buy another, nor will I recommend it, sadly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good value for about 3-6 months I bought the Kobo Arc for my mom as a gift, and it was so great I bought one for myself shortly after. Both of us then had issues with the charging port within a few months (i.e. plugged in but doesn't charge, only charges if cord is at a slight angle)...mine actually became impossible to charge within about 8 months and through their customer service I was able to get a replacement device since it was within a year of buying. They sent me a refurbished one that worked for about 6 months before it crapped out as well, but the refurbished ones only come with a 3 month warranty, so now it's useless. If they'd fix the power port by putting a USB or magnetic port, or even just moving the port so it's out of the way, that would be great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as the old Arc I bought this when my old Kobo Arc finally died, and it's a bit of a disappointment. I love the HDMI port so I can hook it up to my TV, unlike the old one, and I really appreciate Kobo ditching the tapestries model, so the bottom 3rd of my homepage isn't covered in unwanted webpage suggestions. The problem is the touchscreen. It's laggy and often unresponsive. The screen resolution seems to have gone down, too. These problems make the new Arc more annoying for everyday use than its predecessor. I hope the charge port holds up better than the last model, which stopped functioning after a year on my old Arc, but the build quality doesn't look any better to me, so I guess only time will tell.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not bad, but the description in this website is confusing I bought one for my mother for the holiday and its not bad, the problem is the bad description in the chapters website that says in a page is a dual-core processor and the other page says its a quad-core, other thing is the description let us think is a 32 GB of internal memory space but in fact it is a 8 GB of internal memory. The description talk of a full Android tablet 4.2. Yes but it is a custom Android 4.2 with a lot of Apps, widgets and things I really dont whant but it is right on the start screen and we cant delete that. So its a ereader tablet with a modified android for people who whant something for reading but have the power for play games and its perfect for my mom but under 40 Years old thats not what you whant
