Electronic Gift Certificate - $25 Value

I wanted to buy 5 gift cards and could not.
Pop-ups kept appearing and I had to re-enter the site to get rid of them.

It appears you can only use this online, not at the stores. More importantly, beware of slow processing. This will not work for quick gifts that you might need. It takes them hours to process the order, and after twelve hours I haven't received the certificate. My email may arrive eventually (I hope), but I give this a "1" simply because it is absolutely not in accord with what one minimally expects in an online gift certificate. (...also interestingly, though I have yet to receive the "electronic" certificate, my being charged for it has certainly been a quick, automated process...). Update: Went from 1 to 2 after receiving the certificate in 14 hours. Chapters should update the details of this product on its page, and streamline the purchase process, in order for this to be comparable to other online certificate services.

I love these electronic gift cards for my family in Canada (I am in the States). The receipients are always delighted that they can do their own shopping. Over Christmas I had a problem with one delivery because I had accidentally given Indgo a bad address. The problem was solved after some back and forth for a few weeks. Four stars for a happy ending, 1 star deducted because it took a lot of emailing. In the end, these are usually very easy to send and my family has never had a problem using them.

I've purchased probably 10 or more of these electronic gift cards in the $25 & $50 denominations and multiples thereof, going back at least a few years. I've not only never had a problem, Chapters has never missed a delivery date. They're great as a last-minute gift, or when mailing a package is too problematic.

Just this past Wednesday, I sent one to an out-of-town friend and she emailed her thanks first thing in the morning, on her birthday, the following day. I just purchased one for my nephew's birthday, tomorrow. I have no doubt he'll receive it on time, as has every other recipient to whom I've sent one.

At first I thought this was a great gift idea; I could avoid shipping costs of a gift card and not worry about whether or not the card would get there on time. The gift certificate is electronic, so it is immediate. Doesn't that sound perfect? Not to the recipient! I sent this to my niece who loves to shop in the store. The gift certificate was not acceptable in the store, it was only for on-line purchases. I did not see that in the description of the gift certificate before I purchased it and I still don't see that on the website. Once my niece made her selections on-line, she was charged a fee for each item as well as shipping for the whole order. What she could have bought in the store, she ended up having to pay $9.97 more for on-line. She now also has to wait for her order to be filled and shipped. This gift has been very disappointing for both parties and I won't be doing this again!!!!

WILL NEVER ACCEPT GIFT CERTIFICATE TO BE PUT ONLINE TO CHAPTERS AGAIN AND OFFERED HUNDREDS IN MY WORK. TRIED THIS TIME AND DEFINITELY THE LAST

I emailed customer service. They will get back to me "within 24 hours". I discovered on line that my order has been "shipped in full". But I do not have the gift certificate in an email as promised. What do I do now? Wait? How long? When it arrives I will update this site.

A simple Online Gift Certificate has caused so much stress. The "6 hour email" has not arrived. Going on 12 hrs. The email I did receive indicates the Gift Certificate was shipped to an address in Brampton I never heard of. Several phone calls later I am told it's a "dummy address" cuz the Gift Certifiicate is electronic, not being shipped. How am I supposed to know that? Customer Service explains this very poor communicate but can not help because wife's name is on the order not mine. We ordered this Certificate because we needed it TODAY. Now that my wife is unavailable we can not get ANY information on the order. I was told I could not speak to a Supervisor and the rep refused to help me. This is the WORST ONLINE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD.

Makes a great gift, but its ridiculous how long it takes to be delievered to the recipient. Its being sent by E-mail, so it should be there almost instantly. At the MOST it shouldn't take more than 30 min to an hour to be delievered.

These make a great gift, but my experience is that they take forever to be delivered to the recipient. I ordered one for my sister's birthday and it arrived eight days after the requested delivery date. Very dissapointing.

I sent this and it was received with in 2 hours.
Much easier than going to the store, purchasing one and sending it.

I do not buy from Chapters at all. This is the first time I have ever been to this website. The only reason I purchased the gift card was to put into a birthday card for a 75-year-old lady. When the email came back to me, it was only an email, there was NO gift certificate attached! In addition, to top it off it states that it can ONLY be used ONLINE! Had I been aware of this in the first place I would have never placed the order online.
