A Hero's Guide To Deadly Dragons is rated 5 out of 5 by 1.
Read the books that inspired the How to Train Your Dragon films! This book will be a hit with children and adults alike.

THE STORY CONTINUES in the sixth volume of Hiccup''s How to Train Your Dragon memoirs...

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III was an awesome sword-fighter, a dragon-whisperer and the greatest Viking Hero who ever lived. But it wasn''t always like that. Hiccup''s memoirs look back to when Hiccup was just an ordinary boy, and finding it very hard to be a Hero.

Hiccup is lost in the Library Labyrinth and the Driller-Dragons and Madguts and Murderous are on the prowl. Hiccup''s birthday is not going to be the quiet affair he might have hoped for. Also contains a comprehensive Dragonese Dictionary for those who''d like to dragon-whisper as well as the dragon-whisperer himself.

How to Train Your Dragon is now a major DreamWorks franchise. How to Train Your Dragon 2 hits cinemas in Summer 2014 starring Gerard Butler, Cate Blanchett and Jonah Hill and the TV series, Riders of Berk, can be seen on CBeebies and Cartoon Network.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need double the leaves for this one! This book for tweens (AND everyone else!) is absolutely hilarious! Poor Hiccup - his misadventures are wonderful treats to read and this is no exception. Every book I've read by Cowell leaves me with sore sides from laughing so hard. HOWEVER, what we find so funny here is actually real life under "dragon" cover. I eagerly await the next one so that I may 'pre-read' it for my grandchildren. In fact, I love it so much that I am purchasing the entire series for donation to a library in northern Ontario. Ms. Cowell - thank you for your delightful sense of humour and your wonderous insight into a world that some of us may have left behind... May the "itchyworms" never, ever, find you...

''Fiercely exciting and laugh-aloud funny, it is as full of joy for children of 7+ who have given up reading as for those who love it.''-Amanda Craig, The Times
