About the Author

When you look at the life of acclaimed author/illustrator Molly Bang, you see the mark of her adventurous spirit. Her unusual career path is reflected in her award-winning children’s books. After college Molly taught English in Japan. She returned to the U.S for graduate studies in East Asian Languages and Literatures. She then worked in India, Bangladesh, and West Africa for Johns Hopkins, Unicef, and Harvard. Molly’s books cover a wide variety of subjects from adolescence to ecology and illustrate her versatility as a writer. Currently, she resides with her husband in California, where she continues to write and illustrate.
