Good Families Don't

by Alan Daniel, Robert Munsch

Doubleday Canada | September 1, 1990 | Trade Paperback

Good Families Don't is rated 5 out of 5 by 4.
Good Families Don''t is Munsch''s funniest book yet, about a risqué subject that is guaranteed to have children--and adults--rolling in the aisles.

When Carmen tries to tell her parents that there is a big fart lying on her bed, they don''t believe her.  "Good families like ours," they tell her, "do not have farts."  But when they go upstairs to see, the fart attacks them--as it does the similarly disbelieving police when they arrive.  Carmen is left to deal with the situation on her own, which she does with the help of a rose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Farts! Families and Fun! Do you think your family is bad? Well, think again! The story, Good Families Don't, is about a lot of farts! Awesome book for boys or anyone who enjoys bathroom humour!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I am amazed by the talent of a man who can write this great funny book on a taboo subject, and can also write the poignant "Love You Forever". Robert Munsch can be on my guest list any time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How Could You! When my littlest niece read me this book, I laughed and laughed. I told her it sounded like a story written about my family when I was a child. There were no 'offensive bodily noises' allowed in our house. This book takes a witty look at how to tackle an 'explosive' subject. I wish this book had been around when I was a kid!

About the Author

Canadian writer, Robert Munsch was born on June 11, 1945 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania into a family of nine children. While working at a daycare center and telling stories to children, he realized that storytelling was what he loved to do and eventually he started writing the stories down. His first published title was "Mud Puddle." Other titles to follow include "Goodnight Moon,""Love You Forever,""Angela's Airplane,""Andrew's Loose Tooth," and "Stephanie's Ponytail." He continues to visit schools, libraries and daycares telling stories for free.

From Our Editors

In Good Families Don't, Robert Munsch delivers another hilarious children's tale about a risqué subject sure to have children and adults laughing for hours. When Carmen tries to tell her parents there is a big fart lying on her bed, they don't believe her. "Good families like ours," they tell her, "do not have farts." But sure enough, the fart attacks them when they go upstairs to investigate – leaving Carmen to resolve the situation on her own.

Editorial Reviews

"...the key ingredient in all Munsch''s books is his feeling for children.  He respects them."
