The new girl in town, Beatrice is expecting her new best friend to be one of the girls she meets on the first day. But instead, the alphabet conspires to seat her next to Jonah, aka Ghost Boy, a quiet loner who hasn''t made a new friend since third grade. Something about him, though, gets to Bea, and soon they form an unexpected friendship. It''s not romance, exactly?but it''s definitely love. Still, Bea can''t quite dispel Jonah''s gloom and doom?and as she finds out his family history, she understands why. Can Bea help Jonah? Or is he destined to vanish?

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hauntingly Beautiful This books was amazing. I loved it. I was up waaaay late into the night reading, because I had to know how it finished. And for, about, the last 20 pages i was reading through tear filled eyes. As a somewhat, self described weirdo myself, I totally identified with Bea and Jonah, who can't really relate to the people they go to school with. After his mother and twin brother die in a car crash, Jonah has not been the same. He isolates himself from everyone around him. It's not until Beatrice moves to town that he is able to open up. The two form a friendship, that might turn into more. The ending is so hauntingly sad and beautiful, I found myself thinking about this books days after I finished reading it. Very Good Book.
