About the Author

Penelope Casas is the author of several Spanish cookbooks including the bestselling Tapas, and is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, Gourmet and Bon Appetit. Widely considered the foremost American authority on Spanish food, Casas is a consultant and lecturer on Spain, a guest speaker at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Geographic Society, and an adjunct professor at New York University. In recognition of her efforts on behalf of Spain, she was named Dame of the Order of Civil Merit, and was awarded the National Prize of Gastronomy and Medal of Touristic Merit.
