Stella, Queen of the Snow is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.

Winner of the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Award

Stella and her little brother, Sam, are spending the day playing in the snow. The forest, snowballs, snow angels and the mysterious white stuff itself provide fuel for Sam's questions and Stella's answers as they discover the world of winter together.

Exquisite, evocative watercolors bring a snowy day alive and make this a wonderful winter story. Gently humorous, the book also captures the relationship between an older sister and her little brother -- a fun yet sometimes trying responsibility. Stella and Sam explore the wonders of snow with the same magic that they bring to all their adventures.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended! This series of fantastic books about Stella & her little brother, Sam, have become a favourite in our house. I have an 8 yr old son & 6 yr old daughter. We laugh & giggle! The questions that Sam comes out with & then the answers his big sister gives are absolutely tickling! Sometimes serious and then well, not so serious. What can I say- we love them and always look, hoping to see a new one that we haven't found yet out on the shelves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Something Beautifully Special Creativly imaginative. Fabulously adorable and undoubtfully absolute. The book I am talking about is Stella Queen of the Snow. The pictures dicipt Stella's descriptions completely and the skys are specially wonderful. This is one you would want to read when your own skys are not as wonderful and your questions do not need a scientific answer but simply just an answer.

About the Book

Winter was never so magical as in this marvelous book about Stella and Sam discovering a familiar landscape transformed by a heavy snowfall. Sam makes his very first snowstorm, and, as usual, he has lots of questions: Where do snowmen sleep? Can you eat a snowflake? Do snow angels sing? Older and bolder, Stella knows all the answers, and she delights in showing Sam the many pleasures of a beautiful winter's day. Young readers are enchanted as Stella and Sam build a gigantic snowman, then they go skating and sledding and make beautiful snow angels in a fluffy, white, magical, and wondrous world.
