About the Author
The brothers Vegard and Bård Ylvisåker, better known as Ylvis, have
gained a unique position in the Norwegian entertainment industry.
They are musically gifted and have worked as comedy artists and
talk show hosts in Norway for many years. The two young men began
their career in 2000 with the show Ylvis - en kabaret ("Ylvis - A
Cabaret"), critics handed out glowing reviews. The same happened
when the brothers completed their second performance, Ylvis - en
konsert ("Ylvis - A Concert"). They continue to put on concerts.
The song "What Does the Fox Say?" was made for a TV show and was
supposed to entertain a few Norwegians for three minutes - and
that's all. It garnered over 200 million YouTube views. It was
adapted to print and published by Simon and Schuster Books for
Young Readers and published in December 2013. It made the New York
Times Bestseller list the same month.
Christian Løchstøer co-wrote the lyrics of "The Fox (What Does the
Fox Say?)" with Ylvis. He is managing editor of Tonight with Ylvis
and has been working with the duo since 2007.

"As media tie-ins go, this is a no-brainer...the premise of the
book is child friendly, incorporating actual animal calls ("Dog
goes woof. / Cat goes meow./ Bird goes tweet / and Mouse goes
squeak."), as well as a variety of silly noises, which will go down
treat during storytime."
