If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer,
A wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er,
A magic bean buyer .

Come in . for where the sidewalk ends, Shel Silverstein''s world begins. You''ll meet a boy who turns into a TV set, and a girl who eats a whale. The Unicorn and the Bloath live there, and so does Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout who will not take the garbage out. It is a place where you wash your shadow and plant diamond gardens, a place where shoes fly, sisters are auctioned off, and crocodiles go to the dentist.

Shel Silverstein''s masterful collection of poems and drawings is at once outrageously funny and profound.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed My cat could write a better book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent childrens book! I read this book when I was young and so did my husband. We both loved it. We bought a copy for our 5 year old son and he asks us to read from it every night. He even practiced reading one poem he thought was hilarious and then read it to his kindergarten class. It was a big hit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Delight For Every Child --- and Adult! I first bought this book 30 years ago when my son was born. He absolutely adored it and we spent countless hours sharing it and having so much fun together. Since then I have bought one for new babies for friends and family and it has never failed to bring joy to generations of children. I just bought the latest copy for the birth of my niece's new daughter, and, as always, Shel Silverstein's charming poems and drawings have worked their magic. I highly, highly recommend this addition to your library!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book Just a great book. Wonderful imagination, playful use of language, a celebration of the absurd and comical, but with plenty of touching moments and wisdom as well. Great for introducing children to the joy of poetry, which most kids don't hear a lot of.
