Composer: A. R. Rahman.
Personnel: Hentry Kuruvilla, T.R. Krishna Chetan, Pravin Mani (programming).
While M.I.A. is likely to get the most attention on the soundtrack to SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, TRAINSPOTTING director Danny Boyle's film about a working-class boy in Mumbai, composer A.R. Rahman does the real heavy lifting. While M.I.A collaborates with Rahman on "O...Saya," and there are two versions of her well known "Paper Planes," beyond that, it's pretty much Rahman's show. Whether he's at the helm of instrumental compositions blending electronics, Indian flavors, and hip-hop beats, or working with a variety of Eastern singers, his blend of old and new is the perfect musical companion to the film.
