Unlike the soundtrack for the first TWILIGHT film, the release that accompanies the sequel NEW MOON features entirely new, exclusive music. The collection is also much more indie rock-focused, and some of the artists even composed music specifically for the film. Highlights include the first single, Death Cab For Cutie's "Meet Me On The Equinox," the melancholy feel and lyrical hook of which ("everything ends"), pertains directly to NEW MOON's plot line concerning the end of the main characters' relationship, and Muse's epic "I Belong To You," which incorporates dramatic, gothic-sounding piano and orchestral flourishes which recall the earliest vampire movies.

    New Moon Score - Four Stars

    I don't know why Chapters doesn't have the New Moon score so I am going to write my review for the score with the regular soundtrack. I have been listening to the score soundtrack for New Moon and I have to say it is so different than the score for Twilight. You can really notice that it was written by a different composer. The movie has a different tone and that is reflected in the score.
    My favorite pieces are Full Moon, which incorporates the main theme for New Moon, and Dreamcatcher.

    At first I wasn't sure.....it is a different mix than then the Twilight soundtrack but it grows on you. I love the song by OK GO, Grizzly bears, Tom Yorke and Muse!

    New moon (the book) is deep, sad and beautiful and those are all adjectives that would use to decribe this soundtrack.

    I really liked the Twilight Soundtrack, but this soundtrack lacked something. I didn't want to listen to it at all.

    I have to say that I haven't listened to the New Moon soundtrack that much, but I'm not liking it at all. After the Twilight soundtrack, which I loved, this is certainly not what I expected.
    The only notable song is, of course, Meet Me on The Equinox by Death Cab for Cutie. That song is really growing on me. But none others on this album have. I am very disappointed.

    I really liked most of the songs on New Moon's soundtrack but I still found myself liking more songs on Twilight's soundtrack.
