Our three and a half year old thinks that this is the greatest toy ever. He asks to play with it constantly. The toy is huge. You need a large table or the floor to be able to play with it properly and the table will be restrictive to getting around to play with all the aspects of the island. We have to put it away after play time to prevent our one year old from getting at it. It won't fit on a shelf or closet put together, but breaks apart into three parts and back together again with ease. You'll still need a large shelf/space to store the pieces, but it's manageable. If you're short on space to store it and can't have it out all the time, think twice. On a review we read it suggested not opening the bag of lava and this is a great idea. It's a giant mess waiting to happen, that would really only add to the experience for a meticulous child; unless of course you don't care, then your kid will love having little bits of plastic to send flying everywhere. The coin/treasure cave game is great. It's got five levels of difficulty and so will be a point of interest for our little guy for years to come. It's super intuitive and fun to play. The lights inside the cave react with jewels, crystals and gold nicely to create quite the visual effect inside. We took back a gift from the holidays and put the money towards this island priced at 50% off, so it was beyond worth it for us. Before ever playing with it, I wouldn't have spent full-price on the toy, but now I think I probably would. If you're short on space and money, take a pass on this one, but if you want something that will last for years and be a centrepiece toy, go for it.
