Good concept, but requires lots of muscle to put rods into balls to maintain the shape....Easily falls apart if rods and balls are not connected well...kids loved it!!!!

    Okay, but not great 2

My boys ( 3.5 and 5 years old) do enjoy playing with Crazy Forts. The concept is great, the lights are really handy, but overall the structure is flimsier than expected. The sticks often come loose. For the price, one would expect more pieces as well.

    Amazing learning toy! 5

Finally a toy that the kids love to play with and requires them to think. I read some of the negative reviews on this site and can only say that they are not building properly. This toy has many different angles available to build anything. If you choose to angle the sticks without support, the structure will not stand up. If you build properly, like the structures they show on their web site, they will hold up a comforter. Once built you can even pick the whole thing up and move it… read more

I was soooo excited to get this. imagine a fort you can build yourself. I read the reviews of people saying it's great and I thought, what a great christmas present for my kids|! The fort is just awful. it falls apart if someone sneezes in the next room! you push and push the sticks in and it still falls apart if you hang the lightess of light sheets on it! i keep rebuilding it and it keeps falling apart. i would ask for my money back, but i'm sure the crazy people at crazy forts just don… read more

    Great Toy! 5

This review is from: Crazy Forts by Crazy Forts (Other Format)

This is a fantastic toy! Our kids, age 3 to 6 play with it regularly and for hours at a time. The negotiation and planning that goes into the building is great to watch. Building and then rebuilding seems to be the most fun. I can see now where my kids are actually learning what works and what doesn't. They spent a lot of time building structures that fell down easily, only to return with a 'new idea'. Then build another structure and test their idea. The balls allow you to build in… read more

    A little disappointed... 3

I bought this toy for my 4 1/2 year old son who loves to build and loves forts We purchased 2 sets as one set is not enough to make a structure big enough for 2 to play. This toy is ok. My kids, now 5 and 3, like playing with it, but still need an adult to build it for them and to continually be ready to fix any problem areas. We don't pull it out very often though. We find that by the time we finally build a structure, the kids play in for a few minutes and then are ready to move onto… read more

Bought this for my nephews 7th birthday. He and his 4 year old sister had not problem figureing it out..A few weren't quite pushed together hard enough on the first try but with a little adjustment they were off to the races and dreaming of what to make next.

Bought this for grandkids...problem: put anything heavier than a twin sized sheet and it collapses! We compromised & used sheer curtains. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. And, I might not have bought it if I had seen it in the "box" so to speak, rather than only on-line

I just bought this for my 7 year old nephew for Easter. He opened it right away and within 10 minutes had the majority of it built, all by himself. A few of the rods ended up falling out but probably because he hadn't pushed them in hard enough. I'm now thinking about getting another set so he can make an even bigger fort. Great item.

I just recently bought this product to play with my little cousins... We had a blast! As long as you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS in the box you can put something together in no time. They also have a lot of good design ideas on their website. I wouldn't normally review but saw a lot of bad feedback and felt the product wasn't getting proper representation. These are a fun and simple toy and I would recommend them to anyone! PS - My 6 year old cousin does NOT have an engineering degree and had… read more

This product is great in theory but you need to be a structural engineer to actually build one,

I'd have to agree re: the other comments written here already. We were really looking forward to a do-it-yourself fort kit with TinkerToy-style connections, but my kids age 6 & 4 have trouble executing on this without my help to really push the rods into the ends and take them apart. Not enough pieces for a good sized fort and there's no way I'm spending another $50. Lastly, the pieces really don't stay together very well during play and require constant reconnection. It's an Ok toy if I have… read more

I've been really excited about this toy for a long time. This past Christmas, Chapters around my city shipped in hundreds of these and I bought three. I certainly did not experience the difficulty other reviewers did! They were not hard to stick in, and neither were they loose. They were the perfectly fitted to give the right amount of hold without having to force them (though some holes did need to be broken in). They only came apart in areas that were obviously high-traffic or high-tension… read more

    Disappointed 1

Bought two Crazy Fort kits and two sets of Crazy Fort lights for Xmas as a gift for two young children (2.5 and 3.5 years old). After reading the other reviews here, I have to agree with the those who have been critical of this product - good concept, poor execution. It does take a LOT of force to fit the sticks securely into the balls - children can't do this - and even then the fort is very wobbly and constantly coming apart as the kids jostle it (as of course they will). Good Idea 4

This review is from: Crazy Forts by Crazy Forts (Other Format)

My son loves building forts and this was a great gift idea. Unfortunately, as others have pointed out, 1 box is not enough and I cannot justify $50.00 for the set and he finds it hard to get some of the poles in and out of the balls.

    A Christmas Delight. 5

This review is from: Crazy Forts by Crazy Forts (Other Format)

I've actually purchased 4 Crazy Forts Sets for my nieces and nephews this Christmas, and was delighted to see, one after another, their faces as they spent hours playing under, in, and around their forts. Even the kids that were too young to build their own fort still enjoyed crawling through them, and playing their own version of hide-and-seek. Lovely toy. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Bought this early December for my Nephew and understand from my sister that it is played with everyday. It is guaranteed uninterrupted play for hours she tells me. Ironically he got 2 more kits for Christmas and complains to his Mom & Dad that the basement is too small...
