This is my first Melissa and Doug product and I was very pleased with the number of different foods provided. Right now my daughter is too young to understand the "food groups" but she definitely enjoys the variety of items in the baskets. When she's older I'll probably work with her on identifying which foods go in which basket. I also love that there's no junk food included in this set because I've looked around and some sets tend to include fries and other items I wouldn't encourage eating. One thing about this item is that all the food is pretty much the same size so nothing is to scale but this didn't bother me.
