Dangerous! My son choked!

CJ

My 4 month-old choked on this by getting the front legs in his mouth while on his belly and dropping his head down...this rammed the front legs back into his throatm while the back legs went under his chin. Be careful!! Luckily I was right beside him!

Unfortunately we have a very confused individual here. There is a difference between choking and gagging. To choke on something it must become lodged in your throat and block air. Put something in your mouth far enough and you will gag. If this woman's son was able to get Sophie in his mouth to the point he choked, he belongs in a zoo, not a stroller or crib. I'm an adult and can not get Sophie all the way in my mouth even if forced. A rational person would conclude he was gagging, which an infant will do with just about anything - including their hands, which I would not refer to as dangerous. This is simply a lie being perpetrated by a Canadian woman's blog to drive traffic to her site.

Who lets their infant play with a toy like that on their belly? I have a 3 month old and she has gagged by shoving the legs as far back as she can, but I'm also not dumb enough to let her play with Sophie on her belly. There is also the fact that if the infant is capable of 'choking' on Sophie - they are also then capable of removing her. Sounds to me like a paranoid parent - Sophie is perfectly safe and our daughter loves her!

I have never seen a baby that dosen't roll either from their back to belly or belly to back unless you have somekind of roller restrint for your baby.
