This was the first toy i bought to my baby before she was even born. For many months it stayed with her all the time and she would chew it when she was teething. It is safe and easy to clean.
Now she is 21 months and everytime she sees Sophie her eyes light up with joy!

Gifted this to my friend and she wanted it bad for her baby girl and has heard great things about it being made of natural items and non-toxic for the baby. Her baby loves it and no complaints from her Momma!

Got this for a gift for our triplets. Loved it initially as my dd would play with it for hrs., however when my 7month old son was playing with it he got one of the legs lodged in his throat and choked, he was turning purple and managed to free it before i got to him. Found similar reviews on other sites afterwards.

With its natural rubber and non-toxic paint, she is the perfect toy for holding, squeezing, sucking, and chewing. Mommy will also love Sophie because she’s super easy to clean.

This toy is fantastic. My now 10 month old son still loves her. I love that she is not plastic, she is soft, and easy to clean. My little guy loves making her squeak. It has been perfect for teething too!

    Watch for Defects

My 5 month old was just chewing on Sophie for 3 days and I found a piece of rubber on Sophie's ear falling off. To my surprise I then found pieces of ceramic like rubber mixture inside the cracked rubber on her ear. I bought it from Markville Mall ToyRUs store and returned the item immediately. ToyRus told me this is their first returned and will looked into it further. I hope they do as my daughter could have chooked thank god I saw it by chance. Watch out eager parents out there wanting to try this product.

This product is great - parents should be inspecting their childrens toys regularly anyway and unfortunately no matter how great the product there are always bound to be the occasional defective items - The ear on Sophie is also so tiny that the chances of a 5 month old child choking as opposed to swallowing it is slim to none, in which case she'd have just pooped it out . Sorry to burst your bubble but it wasn't the major safety issue that you seem to be making it out to be.

I was on a quest to find cloth teething dolls, 'cause all the other plastic teething toys made my daughter cry! When somebody suggested Sofie to me I was a little apprehesive, $20 for a toy that could be described as a dogs' chew toy! But I was willling to try anything, and so glad I did. My daughter contently chew on her for hours. I have recently bought one for my nephew and another for my niece, and will continue buying Sofie for others whom are expecting.

This is the best teething toy ever invented. We have 3 of them just to make sure one of these sweet little creatures are always with us.

There are thousands of mothers who have blog postings with accolades to this cute and squeaky toy. But there have also been postings about choking hazards on infants having her legs rammed down their throats. One complaint was called into my trusted toy store and they removed the product from their shelves.

My daughter was chewing on her fingers, and choked on that too, and got rashes. Never leave your kids unattented with any sort of toys.

    Dangerous! My son choked!

My 4 month-old choked on this by getting the front legs in his mouth while on his belly and dropping his head down...this rammed the front legs back into his throatm while the back legs went under his chin. Be careful!! Luckily I was right beside him!

Unfortunately we have a very confused individual here. There is a difference between choking and gagging. To choke on something it must become lodged in your throat and block air. Put something in your mouth far enough and you will gag. If this woman's son was able to get Sophie in his mouth to the point he choked, he belongs in a zoo, not a stroller or crib. I'm an adult and can not get Sophie all the way in my mouth even if forced. A rational person would conclude he was gagging, which an infant will do with just about anything - including their hands, which I would not refer to as dangerous. This is simply a lie being perpetrated by a Canadian woman's blog to drive traffic to her site.

Who lets their infant play with a toy like that on their belly? I have a 3 month old and she has gagged by shoving the legs as far back as she can, but I'm also not dumb enough to let her play with Sophie on her belly. There is also the fact that if the infant is capable of 'choking' on Sophie - they are also then capable of removing her. Sounds to me like a paranoid parent - Sophie is perfectly safe and our daughter loves her!

I have never seen a baby that dosen't roll either from their back to belly or belly to back unless you have somekind of roller restrint for your baby.

    Perfect size for little hands

    youngmom

OK I know 20$ seems expensive for what looks like a dog toy - ignoring the non-toxic paint, made in the French Alps, classic toy angle - but because my baby was able to grasp it easily (and therefore not drop it unless she wanted to) and I had hard time finding any other toy as slender - it made life a little easier and was worth it. And of course it is also trendy and cute!

Gave this to my daughter for her first birthday and she loves it! The squeaker is easy and she can make the adorable sound all by herself. And there are many great chewing surfaces for little mouths. Now I just need to keep it away from the dog...
