    Way too bright!

I bought this clock based on the recommendation from a friend. We've used it for a while now, but are finding that the clock is so bright that it makes it difficult for my child to fall asleep.

I end up covering up the clock every night. My child also doesn't have any interest in learning how to tell time from this clock, so once we find a replacement clock then this one will be removed permanently! Wish we had spent the money on something else.

From the instructions I think you could set it to just come on at wake up time without the colorchange transition. For example, set the ON time to 8AM, OFF time to 9AM. This way it would be off during the night and only come on at wake up time. From the instructions: In order to disable the colorchange transition do one of the following: 1. Set the CHANGE time equal to the ON time. In this case the nightlight turns on (Yellow) at the ON time and off at the OFF time. It does not change color. 2. Set the CHANGE time equal to the OFF time. In this case the nightlight turns on (Green) at the ON time and off at the OFF time. It does not change color.

    Nightlight kept my child up!

I would not recommend this for anyone if their child is not used to a nightlight. The clock lit up my daughter's room alot so she had trouble falling asleep and at 3:00am she came into our room asking us to turn it off as it was keeping her up. We could not figure out a way to turn the nightlight function off.

    This actually works!

My four year old who used to let us sleep til 7:30 suddenly switched to 4:30-5am wake up calls this past spring. We tried later bed time, earlier bedtime, black out curtains etc. Nothing worked and it was big tantrum when we sent him back to bed. But after only three nights he's staying in bed til the clock turns green. If you ask him he tells you "yellow clock mean nighttime stay in my bed, green clock means wake up! Go wake daddy!" my son is somewhat special needs and I was worried this wouldn't work but had to try. I'm glad I did.

    Best money we ever spent

We have twin boys who were almost 3 when I bought the clock. They would always get up at 6am, without fail, and come and wake us up. We tried various ideas to try to encourage them to stay in their room, but nothing worked. I bought the clock on a whim because it was on sale.

    Best. Decision. Ever.

We set the clock to turn green at 6:15am the first morning, then 6:30, 6:45 and finally after about a week or so, 7am which was our final goal. The boys often wake up before 7am but will stay in their room, reading, playing or chattering to each other. Then they come running excitedly into our room at 7:01am exclaiming, "The clock is green!". They love pushing the button and having the clock tell them the time, but they don't do it so often as to be annoying.

The best test was this past weekend when the time fell back an hour. The boys still stayed happily in their room until 7am...and we got an extra hour of sleep. Yay!

    We got more sleep!

We have had this clock for 2 years now, and it works really well and worth every penny. What the best part is, no sound alarm, "Clock turns green". It was good because sometimes our daughter would wake up in the middle of the night, and she would wake us up. Now, she consistently comes out at the appropriate time.

Our daughter listens to robots more so than us, because she can't argue with them - it's just the way it is.

    Works Like a Charm!!!

I was a little skeptical at first, but it actually works! My 3 year old gets excited every morning when it's time to get up when his clock turns green. I love that this clock also teaches children how to tell time.

    It worked!

My 3.5 year old daughter was waking up at 5 or 5:30 most mornings and refusing to go back to sleep. We were desperate to get some extra sleep so I bought this clock. Within a couple of days, she started sleeping until the green light came on. We set it for 6 AM at first and have gradually made it turn green later so now she sleeps until 6:30 or later. It was really easy for her to grasp the idea that when the yellow nightlight is on, it is time for sleep and when it is green, it is time to wake.

Setting the clock is also really easy. I read the instructions once and have been able to change it on my own easily since then. I find the amount of light the clock gives off to be sufficient as a nightlight and hasn't bothered my daughter's sleep at all.

I look forward to being able to use the teaching time feature in the future.

My 2.5 year old woke up EVERYDAY at 5:15 a.m. since he was 3 months old. Within 5 days of using this clock he now doesn't wake us up till it turns green at 6:15...finally his dad and I are getting enough sleep!!! I highly recommend this clock for anyone with any early riser

    Educational and bright!

My kids read what time it is, then press the button to see what the clock says is the actual time. They love hearing that they are correct at telling time! It is encouraging and fun. The yellow backlight is very bright, like a nightlight. The only problem is that the plug falls out easily at the back so when my 4-year old grabs it the plug falls out, so I have to re-program the time whenever I plug it back in. All in all a great idea and a great clock.

    Ok, it's a clock...

I had great hopes for this clock that promises to teach my child to tell time and sleep in. This clock does neither. It has a neat feature where the child can press a button and be told the time. This is it. It is expensive, a tad complicating to set up, and I wouldn't buy it again.

You know what? Box it up and ship it back. For $50, it really should be exactly what you want.

Thanks ALbertaJenn, normally I would but I threw out the box and everything...

    I'll give you CAD25 for it without the box...403 609 7653 :-)

    Timely!!

My five year old is very much a morning person. He would get up at 5 o'clock and wonder why everyone else wasn't jumping around the house. Since purchasing this clock, he has learnt to stay in his room until 6:30 when the nightlight turns into a green visual alarm. We haven't used the learning aspect of it (he'll be pushing it all night), but this does eliminate the need for a separate night light. Even at full price (which I paid!) it was well worth the money in time spent sleeping instead of cajoling someone back to his room...

This clock has worked really well with my kids. When the clock turns green they know it's ok to get out of bed - we haven't had to send them back to bed at 5am since we got the clock!
I wish the clock was a little bigger, but otherwise we are very happy with it.

We got this for my daughters 4th birthday. She (and I) love that it glows green in the morning when it is time to get up. As soon as it turns green she gets up and pushes the foot to hear the time and then repeats it back. Then she runs out of her room to excitedly tell me it turned green and that she can get up now. No more calling from her room at 6:00 am to ask if it is "morning time" yet. It seems to be good quality (we've only had it a week) and it has great features not found in any other alarm clock.

    Pretty Cool Kids Clock

    mom2three

My 5 year old daughter got this for her birthday. She loves the "game" where she can guess the time and that she can push the button to have the time said aloud.

I like the nightlight feature, especially the "green means go" option. The kids now know that if it's not green, they need to stay in bed until it is. As a nightlight it doesn't shed all that much light unfortunately.

My biggest complaint is that my kids can't play the "game" without my help to turn it on, unless I just haven't figured it all out yet!

Overall it's cute, it's educational and it's practical - a great gift to receive.

Love this clock ... ensures my three-year-old doesn't get out of bed too early. Turns green when he's allowed to get up. Worth it for the extra sleep we both get.

Purchased this for my almost 3 year old daughter who was getting up too early. I set the light to turn green at 7am and explained the concept of staying in bed till them and it works every morning she comes to get me when she wakes up and the light is green to let me know and is quite proud of herself for staying in bed. Well worth the cost!
