A year or so after the end of WWII, when PoWs are being returned to their homelands, so are all the women who got married or engaged to servicemen during the war being sent to join their loved ones after months, if not years, of separation. This is the story of a collection of women who travelled from Australia and the Far East back to the UK: what they got up to during the steamy, claustrophobic six week voyage, and what happened to them afterwards.
