There's little doubt that these glockenspiel and vibraphone-laced renditions of Bob Marley songs are soothing, sounding as if Marley's songbook were being played by a giant music box with just the slightest trace of Jamaican rhythm left intact. It's disconcerting to hear street anthems like "Get Up, Stand Up, " outlaw sagas like "I Shot the Sheriff, " and cultural history like "Buffalo Soldier" reconfigured as little wind-chime sonatas, but hey, they're sure pretty in these arrangements and one could easily fall into dreamland (now that's a Wailers song that should have been on this collection--Bunny Wailer's "Dreamland") while listening to these decidedly non-rasta vibrations. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi.
