Actions & Accomplishments

  • Indigo’s Private Branded Product

    • Our NÓTA™ journals & stationery are made with 100% FSC-certified paper. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a trusted sustainable forest management solution. The FSC labels indicate that the material or product comes from verified and responsible sources that have met FSC’s strict environmental and social requirements.
    • 98% of our Love & Lore® sleepwear is made from certified sustainable materials like LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and TENCEL™ Lyocell. ECOVERO™ wood-based fibres are sourced from responsibly managed forests and processed using up to 50% less water and energy than conventional viscose. TENCEL™ Lyocell is a sustainably made fabric featuring wood-based fibres sourced from responsibly managed forests and manufactured with the planet in mind.
    • Our OUI™ core bedding and towels from Portugal are made with 100% organic OEKO-TEX-certified cotton or a minimum 60% certified recycled polyester. The OEKO-TEX certification is a global standard that ensures the product is free of over 100 harmful substances.
  • Influencing Our National Brand Product Suppliers

    • Across all our brands, we will stop using glitter, which is a source of harmful micro-plastics, in our products. By the end of 2021, our kids’ products, gift wrap, and cards will be glitter-free.
  • Our Facilities & Operations

    • We are currently diverting 68% of our waste to recyclable and compostable streams, away from landfill and incineration.
    • We have eliminated all single-use plastic shopping bags in our stores and rolled out our new recyclable and FSC-certified paper shopping bag. Additionally, our white tissue paper used at cash to wrap and package breakable items as well as our free bookmarks and cash register rolls are also FSC-certified.
    • Our distribution centres have rolled out right-sized packaging that optimizes outbound shipments and reduces unnecessary void fill.
    • We have transitioned away from using plastic void fill and have introduced a 100% recyclable paper fill at our distribution centres.
    • We have upgraded the lighting and heating units in our distribution centres to gain more energy efficiency.
