Inside little blue envelope 1 are $1,000 and instructions to buy a plane ticket.

In envelope 2 are directions to a specific London flat.

The note in envelope 3 tells Ginny: Find a starving artist.

Because of envelope 4, Ginny and a playwright/thief/ bloke–about–town called Keith go to Scotland together, with somewhat disastrous–though utterly romantic–results. But will she ever see him again?

Everything about Ginny will change this summer, and it's all because of the 13 little blue envelopes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 13 Little Blue Envelopes (Little Blue Envelopes #1) by Maureen Johnson So why two stars and not one? The writing wasn't awful. The idea was just underdeveloped and rushed. I think with more time from Johnson and an editor who'd pushed her to really polish it the book could have easily been three stars, maybe four. I do think she has some talent and I want to try her again, but this was definitely a disappointing start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and Fast-Paced 13 Little Blue Envelopes is a fun story of a teenaged girl coming to terms with her eccentric aunt's death, and the scavenger hunt her aunt has left for her. I really liked this quick read - there's a lot of fun wish-fulfillment that is enjoyable to read - scavenger hunts, free trips across Europe, kind British boys, surprise relatives - and enough angst and conflict about what we really know about our relatives to drive the plot forward. Recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super confusing.... but still an okay book I'll admit, I was pretty bored when I read this book. It was really pointless and a torture to read. Sure there were some good parts but I felt like I really struggled to read and get through it the first time around. The second time I read it, I liked it, but the first time was the WORST! The romance between Ginny and Scott is actually really confusing also. There are times when I'm just completely revolted by them for no apparent reason. Then, there are other times when it's actually kind of cute. Overall, I liked it but nothing more than that. If you're not usually in to reading, then don't read this book, but if you're relatively bored or want a challenge, then you should definitely read this book. It tests your attention level and is just another random way to chew up your time. So ultimately, its your choice, this is the first book where I'm actually neutral about my opinion of it so I'm not much of a help in the "yes" or "no" department. Sorry! :P But if you like it, read the sequel.
