Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite a Niles comeback Steve Niles has had a strange career. When he released 30 Days of Night he quickly became the hottest writer around, and many looked to him to save the "horror" comic. Now he's barely a blip on the radar. And it's not like he made terrible comics, I absolutely adore quite a few. His Cal McDonald series, Giant Monsters, Bigfoot, to name a few. But maybe it's because he made too many "good" books and not enough classics. Who knows? (I'm sure someone does) 28 Days Later: The Aftermath falls into the "good" category, being a somewhat inventive parallel storyline to the movie. What appears to be a series of one shots combines at the end to make a fairly disappointing ending that feels really rushed. Still, for Niles or 28 Days Later fans, this isn't just a quick knockoff, it is a fairly decent story told well. Until the ending that is.
