Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book at a great price Loved the book, it's so rare to find something of local interest and this has it in spades. Excellent stories and some thoughtful and moving poems. Very glad I bought multiple copies for friends and family. They loved it too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it's about time It's about time somebody came out with a book that celebrates winter. I mean, we're Canadian for pete's sake! I love winter and my kids love winter and my neighbors love winter in Edmonton. It's such a multifaceted experience and this book covers it all. I bought it last year and this year I bought copies to give for Secret Santa in the office. I've never been more popular at that place! What a great idea and great local product to support at the holidays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love winter in Edmonton this is the perfect book for you if you love winter in Edmonton like me. There are so many nostalgic winter moments in this book and some of the stories I can even share with my children. They love hearing the one about the guy tobogganing down a hill and right onto Fox Drive! LOL! I'm buying more copies for stocking stuffers for my sisters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gift Idea! I saw a story on CTV about this book last year and immediately had to check it out. Winter in Edmonton is not for the feint of heart and this book illustrates that perfectly. The book is filled with all local writers and I try to support local artists as much as possible, especially during the holiday season. It makes a great gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Christmas Gift! I received this book at a gift exchange at work last year. What a lovely Edmonton book! It made me laugh and cry and think too. This year I am buying copies to send to all my family in Ontario so they can get some idea what it's like for us here sometimes. I really enjoyed this book because I love winter in Edmonton!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Taking the Chill off Winer in Edmotnon This book contains poems,  short fiction, and non-fiction stories about a subject near and dear to every Edmontonian's heart. Winter in the most northerly major city in North America. Other Canadians will enjoy these tales and insights into not merely surviving, but embracing the coldest, darkest parts of the year.

Editorial Reviews

I've never read anything that depicts with such perfect balance the beauty and the terror--the terrible beauty--of life below zero degrees. This collection gives us winter at its most profound, both literally and figuratively.

~Lynn Coady, author of The Antagonist

40 Below captures Edmonton’slove-hate relationship with winter. This excellent anthology gives readers theexperience of an Edmonton winter without the frostbite.
