Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for high school students! As a high school art teacher, I thought this book was of great use to my students in helping them get over "artist's block" in the self-portrait unit. If you're looking for in depth art history, look elsewhere, but if you want a number of excellent visuals in a small, relatively cheap format, this is a book for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get it! Don't expect to read much on portrait theory, this book is all picture and very well done. I got the small version of the book but wish I had of splurged a bit for the hardcover so I could see the reproductions on a larger scale. A great compilation of portraits.
