Have you ever gone just a little too far? Lexie Banks has.

Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it's more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he's been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years . . . and is so off limits. It's a good thing she's leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.

But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can't seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt . . . and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon . . . only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro's signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn't know what to think. She's torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn't want and the man she can't have. And she isn't sure how she can live with herself either way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good This book was really good and I thought the concept was fun but the characters did irritate me a bit with how they acted. I don't think it was as good as I was hoping but it was still very easy and entertaining read. :0)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WTF Really? That ending was just ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. The majority of the first half of the book was so juvenile that i skimmed a lot. The fact that some of the writing literally went "And then, end sentence. And then, end and start a new sentence. " Was annoying enough without having to deal with Lexie's continuous back and forth about her 'love' for Trent. When she's finally in Italy and we are no longer subject to her international monologues(thank goodness) , i started liking Lexie. When she meets Alessandro it definitely had a Thornbirds theme. Which was fine. I liked their interactions, the descriptions of Rome and art. I really thought THAT was were the story was going to head. But the ending. Omg. I don't care what else could have happened but THAT was not what i expected. That one star was only for the relationship that had started with Lexie and Alessandro and for their detailed tours of the museums.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Romance Wasn't All That Great I don't really root for the couple in this book and I think that's why I didn't really enjoy it that much. Honestly, the ending was pretty horrifying. The two love interests were Trent (her step brother) and Alessandro (the Italian priest-in-training). I didn't like who she chose in the end and I disagree with it strongly. I didn't like the guy she chose because I honestly don't see where the attraction came from. All the times she was agonizing over Trent and Alessandro were ridiculous! That just totally ruined the whole book for me. Other than that I really enjoyed how the author portrayed various places in Italy and France.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A pretty hot novel that leaves me wanting more You should have seen my face the entire time I was reading this novel. I was confused. Lexie has a thing for her step-brother and an up and coming priest, and both of those are short of a social Taboo. But, I really enjoyed these characters including Lexie. The story starts off on a pretty good note in my opinion, you see Lisa Desrochers starts the romance off early, and I was really ok with that because...it was hot. The entire novel is filled with hot romance, awkward situations, and sexual tension. I like, I like, I like. And, Lexie goes away out of the country and she has to deal with things in a foreign land. Even long distance her emotions can’t seem to calm down and figure themselves out. There are late night text messages and phone calls from people back home that make her think she should just move on, but the crazy sexy moments keep replaying in her head and she can’t escape. I don’t want to spoil it too much, but the book is filled with hot moments, hot step-brothers, hot priests, and crazy hormones and I just loved it. Good: Trent- He really cares about Lexie. I love the curl hair, the built bod from wrestling and...the guitar. Alessandro- A hot priest. What could be worse for the heart? He’s nice, and built from boxing. And he’s confused about whether or not his future lies with the church. *Sigh Bad: It’s two pretty big social taboos in one book. I was confused and still am about how I feel about the two situations. I want to say “hey if they love each other”, but part of me still finds it weird. Overall (Writing style, story line, and general): Overall I did enjoy the book quite a bit. I found myself forgetting about how these things were taboos and found myself falling in love with both Trent and Alessandro and completely understanding Lexie’s feelings. The writing was very well done and easy to follow. There was some humour and a lot of sexy sexy romance. I’ll say that Lisa Desrochers is pretty good at writing those scenes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Will Leave You Wanting More This book was definitely a favorite in the romance/New Adult category since it had everything that I would want to read in this genre. A Little Too Far is definitely a unique kind of book because you fall in love with both of the male leads and wonder who is she going to pick! I was on the edge of my seat wondering between Trent (Hot step-brother or Alessandro (priest)). It was heartbreaking, teary eye and beautiful. It was an addictive read because I sped through it in 2 days. This story has romance and it opens up your mind to what it means to discovering true love. A Little Too Far is about self-discovery and becoming who you want to be. Each character goes through this journey. It first starts off with Lexi Banks discovering that her ex cheated on her, and while she considers getting back together with him she also has new feelings resurfacing with and entirely new person, Trent. Lexi definitely goes a little too far by sleeping with him. But Lexi has already had feelings for him since she was fifteen. Trent is her best friend. I loved Trent, he is a musician and has tattoos and owns his own bike. She is one hot man! Two nights before her exchange to Rome for school things get heated up and intense between them. Lexi also mentions that this was the most mind-blowing passion in her life. After everything they both feel guilt and shame. The mixed feelings between them all throughout the book make you want to hope they make it in the end. As the reader I felt the chemistry between them. Lexi does got to Italy where she meets the intelligent and handsome Alessandro who is also a new and upcoming priest. Alessandro really got underneath my skin because of his personality and how he treated Lexi with the utmost respect. But with Lexi's track record she is already having thoughts about him too. Torn between both men Lexi must confess and discover herself. A Little Too Far will leave you hanging for more and it will either cause your heart to break or leave you breathless. Lisa Desrochers writing left me hooked! From the very first page to the last I enjoyed every minute of reading this novel. It was an explosive read!
