Following a Foreword by eminent Toronto architect Eberhard Zeidler and an introductory essay by Paul G. Russell that sets the social context for Art Deco in Toronto, the book clearly defines and illustrates the three variants of the Art Deco style of architecture found in Toronto: 1920s Deco; Streamlined Moderne, and Stripped Classical. The main body of the book is divided into five sections – Office Buildings, Commercial Buildings, Civic Buildings, Apartments & Houses, and Movie Houses – showcasing a total of more than 70 buildings with written descriptions and mostly colour photographs with informative captions. The book concludes with maps showing the location of the existing buildings; biographical information on all the Canadian architects whose works are featured; a glossary and bibliography; plus a list of Art Deco-related websites and organizations.<_o3a_p>
