Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice book This book is larger than most field guides so not one you are likely to pack around with you. However it is a great book to have around the house to identify birds. The book consists of actual photos which I find more helpful sometimes than drawings. I do find the organization of the species hard to follow since I am use to my other books. However my sons having only ever used this book, have no problem, so I'm guessing it just depends on what you are use to. If you have a field guide already this is a great second larger book, however I think there maybe better options out there if you plan on only ever having one book and are serious about identifying birds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Book I love nature in general. I'm not an experienced bird watcher by any means however I wanted was a quick and easy reference book to find out what species of birds were found in my backyard. Well, this book does that and a lot more. And it is very simple to use. I love it. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for backyard bird watching Too heavy to carry into field but big pictures are great when watching birds in back yard or from your vehicle. Like reference to birds that look similar. Has flight patterns ... not in my older bird books.
