Rated 4 out of 5 by from Remarkable characters make for a great story Garry Ryan has shifted gears and written a grand tale of historical fiction that will keep you turning pages. His skill of character development draws the reader into the cockpits and personal lives of the air transport auxiliary and the brave women who flew, supporting front line pilots during the second war. The flying scenes are realistic and gripping. Emotional turmoil and romantic liaisons are riveting without being cliche or cumbersome. Mr. Ryan has shown himself to be a writer of depth and versatility. The ending left me wanting more and hoping the next chapter won't be long in arriving.
