Connect emotionally

match the Affect of the child

Listen to what your child is saying

Mirror their emotion back to show  understanding

With this simple strategy, parents can connect with their child in any situation to reduce anxiety, de-escalate tantrums instantly and increase self-esteem. Insightful and empowering, Connected Parenting is filled with step-by-step advice and examples from families that have been transformed, often within weeks. It will bring out the best in you—and your child.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! Brilliant, just brilliant! Finally a book that helps diminish the negative behaviors that exhaust parents and children AND helps parents and children develop strong bonds. I have found that books either deal with the child's behavior at the risk of breaking the bond between the parent and child OR only deals with strengthening bonds. Finally, a book that does both! The best parenting book I've ever read!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Changing Advice I was referred to Jennifer Kolari by my son’s pediatrician. At the time, he was struggling with attention deficit, and was generally a very unhappy child at school. In the second grade, and one of the youngest at only 6, he had no friends, he was always getting called to the office for discipline problems and was being reprimanded constantly for behavioural issues. We knew him to be a smart, sensitive and good natured boy, but somehow his social challenges got the better of him at school. He was always sad, rarely laughed or smiled and it was heartbreaking to kiss my lonely boy goodbye at school every morning. After one month with Jennifer, we saw a difference. By the end of that school year, he had made friends, was coming home happy, and we were not receiving any more phone calls. Her parenting model, and the advice she provided both him and us as parents, turned his life around. He has not had any behavioural issues, nor has he been called to the office in over two years. He is excelling academically, he has friends, and has socially adjusted very well. After years of angst, Connected Parenting has made all the difference in the world to us. Thank God for Jennifer Kolari, our only regret is that we didn’t meet her sooner. I’m delighted she has written this book, so that parents world-wide can benefit from her remarkable work.

"Connected Parenting advises us not just how to parent, but—far more important—who to be as parents.
