Rated 5 out of 5 by from A sexy girl, fighting, and an explosion. I'm hooked! I was quickly hooked by the haunting and provocative trailers I watched online for Flame of Surrender ... but I really wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this book. As for the book itself, it was completely not what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be this sappy love story, and it wasn't. I was pretty jealous that Krishani got to be with Kaliel and I didn't. I wanted Krishani to get there in time, but I don't want to spoil the end. Let's just say this isn't your everyday, someone comes and saves the day at the last second kind of book. I had to read the ending a few times because at first I was like, "what!?" and then "WHAT!?" and once I realized that no, that's it, and there isn't more until book 2, I was like, "wow." Completely speechless. The author did something in this book that is just UNHEARD of. I could rant about it, but I was so hooked that I can't say it was a bad thing. Not when I felt like I was right there with the characters living through the story with them. I was Krishani on the ground when things went boom. I was there for the snow. It was like it was all happening around me. I'm posting this review to suggest that, if you buy just a handful of books this year - you count this gem among them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flame review This is an excellent fantasy book! I find they can be heavy in detail and content however this story flows and I was really engrossed while reading. It has elements of emotion that come across and enrich the story. Also good for young adult.
