Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! I loved these books when I was younger (9-13) and read them once or twice a year. I kept them with me as I grew and moved around, but lost them in a move about 10 years ago. I just rebought this version of the books and, as a 34 year old, can't wait to re-read them and go on this fantastic journey again! It's been so long since I've read them (about 15 years) that I've forgotten almost everything. It'll be like reading them new again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nostalgia Remember reading this when it first came out. One of my favorite stories. I love how beautiful Julian was yet tragic. Too much of a romantic I guess. Please give it a chance. Its a good read. :0)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Most Dangerous Love Triangle Yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When Jenny walks into an eccentric store in search of a game for her party, she meets the mysterious and alluring Julian. After buying the game that he recommends, she and her friends gather to play it later that day. They soon find themselves transported to Julian’s shadowy realm. There they each must face their biggest fear and risk death…unless Jenny promises herself to Julian forever. This book was fast paced, thrilling, romantic and very suspenseful. It is one of the most unique books I have ever come across. The characters were very well developed and the plot was unpredictable. I recommend it to those who would like a paranormal romance that is very unique and exciting. Readers may also enjoy L.J Smith’s “Night World” series and “Dark Visions” as well as “Nevermore” by Kelly Creagh.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Another nice Love story, but too predictable Like all of LJ's books this too has a very happy ending. While the book was okay, so far it is my least favorite of the bunch. I found myself skipping pages, and dragging myself through some of the plots. It could however be that I like a little more meat with my books, and find some YA novels just don't do it for me anymore. I prefer much more action, and this book just lacked anything that grabbed me. If you are looking for sappy and lovey, with a true love ending, you get that here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There's a reason to be scared of shadows... When Jenny forgets to buy the board game for her boyfriends birthday party, her quick foray into an unknown shop sparks a series of events that will change the lives of her and her friends forever. What started out as a nostalgic evening of fun quickly becomes a fight for their lives as Jenny and her friends become targeted by creatures only known as "the Shadow Men." Originally printed in the mid-90's, LJ Smith's "Forbidden Game" is probably my favourite of all her series. A wonderful series in it's own right, there's something for everyone, regardless of whether or not you like(d) "Twilight".
