A bedtime book that opens children's minds to the wonders of the world around them.

Award-winning Canadian author and illustrator Andrea Beck has created a unique gift for parents as they wind their little ones down for bedtime. Goodnight, Canada inspires a sense of community, as a child who lives in Newfoundland lies in bed wondering about other children in his country and the world at large. He quietly bids a goodnight to them all, and to Canada itself, province by province, territory by territory.

The colourful art decorating each page celebrates the diversity of Canada's people and key features of each province - from the quiet wheat fields of Saskatchewan to a fisherman's wharf in Nova Scotia. So many details brighten each page, bringing Canada to life and creating a picture book children will want to go back to again and again!

Andrea Beck is the acclaimed author and illustrator of 15 picture books, including the Elliot Moose series and the Pierre le Poof series, which was shortlisted for the Amelia Francis Howard Gibbon Award for Illustration, as well as The Waiting Dog and Blue Spruce nominee Buttercup's Lovely Day. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute book Cute book, although there is not a lot of content. Good for very young children to gain familiarity with the names of the provinces although the text doesn't tell you a lot about the provinces itself (the pictures do so that is helpful)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from take time to look at pictures On each page a child is saying goodnight to a Canadian province or territory. Take a look at all the provincial features around the bed of the child. Good way for a child to learn about our provinces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well done I like this book as when I read it to any child, we each talk about our trips across Canada or make up stories about what we would see in Provinces that we haven't visited lately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from simple and sweet Jake's Review: This one is a little lame but I am sure little babies like Jesse would like it. I think it might be a fun way for little kids to learn about the different provinces. The illustrations are very nice and mom would probably like them. The rhyme is easy to read so I would be willing to read it to the midget at bedtime if mom forces me to. Jake's Rating: 6.5/10 Mom's Review: A simple and sweet bedtime story with delightful illustrations. A nice introduction to the provinces and territories of Canada for a young child. Each page has some illustrations of highlights of each of the individual provinces. A wee bit stereotypical but hey it is for the young. The images are very dreamlike and will appeal to both the adult and the child. Also nicely multicultural. Not going to lie Jesse was all meh about this one, but he tends to prefer more bright quirky images. Mom's Rating: 8/10
