Rated 2 out of 5 by from Kind of a let down This is probably my least favourite of the HP series. I mean i love HP as much as the next person but this book was just a tad too long to the point where it became dull. There was still humor and lovely magical parts but compared to the other books, it just didn't even compare to their level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Darker and Better! Another year at Hogwarts, another year of challenges for our hero Potter. Despite the intimidating length, this book is fast-paced and more mature than previous incantations. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I liked it. I love the antagonist in this book. (Umbridge, not Voldemort) I just didn't like how Harry was angry at everyone and everything. Literally, there isn't a chapter where Harry isn't ticked off. Like the dude needs to relax and have a cup of butterbeer. I just really wished Harry would have listened to Hermoine...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from loved it but it felt a little bloated definitely a good book, but around halfway i started just feeling bogged down by the sheer leangth of this book. it may have been because i'd finished reading the previous 4 books not even a day before starting this one but some of the scenes more in the center of the book and the "relationship" between cho and Harry felt a little slow

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Good! Once I started reading this book, just like when I read any Harry Potter book, I had a hard time putting it down. This book really had me on edge, but I loved it all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You spend so much time in this universe You spend so much time in this universe. That's the bright side of the length. The con is that it took me months to get through.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My least fave of HP books This was my least favourite of the series, but still important. It was the most boring because there was less action, more frustration, etc. But it introduced us to a whole new villain, the "system" itself. The real-life messages and lessons we can take away from this story is huge...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Magical Novel There is just something about Rowling's writing that makes this series come to life. By this point you really know the characters and the series takes an interesting path in this novel. Worth the time to read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from unintentionally funny If you remember what it was like being a teenager, and dealing with constant hormone imbalances, then you will probably find Harry's constant mood swings hilarious. I read this book both when I was a teen, and as an adult, and related well with the characters emotions. I can now laugh when Harry overreacts over situations he would have handled much more calmly in his previous school years, as well and recall my own ridiculous outbursts from my teenage years.
Date published: 2018-06-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still Good Still a great book, but my least favorite of the series
Date published: 2018-06-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing-ness!! Wow, Dumbledore is a BOSS!! This chapter takes the story to new heights and really dives into the veterans of the wizarding world. This was just awesome, Potter is becoming his own and proving to the others he can stand his own ground. I cannot wait to see where this story goes and how it will all end.
Date published: 2018-06-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is where the magic really turns real! By far the longest book in the series, jam packed with a wild adventure. Loved every minute of it!
Date published: 2018-06-19
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Longest book of the series by far but never feels like it is drawn out or boring. The series gets away from a focus on magical schooling to deal with more serious issues in their world.
Date published: 2018-06-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Cover. First I just have to say that this new cover it freaking amazing, I wish I had this one. I like how in this book, we get to see the adventure leave Hogwarts and it explores more of the wizarding world. I do love how Hogwarts is normally the location for the adventure and magic but this is a nice change. This book like the previous one gets darker and I like how Rowling takes her time, when I look at the first book to this book I can see now how each book gets a little darker and I like how well paced the darkness is increased in each book. This book just makes me sad when I think of it, as I was reading I just loved it and I was all happy and now that I finished it, wow I was so upset after that book. I still love this book.
Date published: 2018-06-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing One of the lesser books, more of a filler. Not much happens until the end.
Date published: 2018-05-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bigger is Sometimes Better Although it may be the longest book of the series, I burned through it very quickly. In other words, credit to J.K. Rowling for producing another captivating story in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. I loved this book, although it isn't my favourite, it's still an extremely enjoyable read. I did find that certain parts of the book dragged on perhaps a little too long.
Date published: 2018-05-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it This book definitely gets darker. You can see a lot more of teenage angst in this book and adventure.
Date published: 2018-05-21

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is a great book This is the Harry Potter book that starts to get dark. Keeps you on your seat!
Date published: 2018-04-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Potter books The longest potter book for you to enjoy all the details the movie doesn't include!
Date published: 2018-04-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eventful JKR sure knows how to through some curve balls in this book! Jammed pack with eventful scenes with a sad ending. One of the best books of the series!
Date published: 2018-04-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from really good book It is definitely the biggest book in the series but just as good. The beginning is a little slow but gets good. It is a little sad because the death of my favourite character happens. Also their is a charcater in this book who is the worst.
Date published: 2018-04-01
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Took a while for me to get into it, beginning was boring but gets much better later
Date published: 2018-03-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very long but worth it JKR crammed a lot of information into this one. And the death of a well loved character. She is still not forgiven.
Date published: 2018-03-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magical in every way! This book is one of my favourites. I could not put it down no matter how hard I tried. I always thought that the magical creatures flying on the cover were phoenixes but they turned out to be thestrals. I was shocked and sad to find out that Sirius Black was executed at the end. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in fantasy, magical creatures and mystery.
Date published: 2018-03-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best one I've read and reread the whole Harry Potter series and this one was my favourite.
Date published: 2018-03-21
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but drawn out... I enjoyed the detail and thought put into this book. The series wouldn't be right without this one. But honestly, this one is really drawn out and long. It took me a day or two for the previous books... this one took me 15 days... because I just couldn't push my self through it. The last 300 pages are the best. However, I still love this series and would highly recommend reading it. INCLUDING this one. I will read it again.
Date published: 2018-03-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magical! Amazing book, but very long! Probably my favourite in the series!
Date published: 2018-03-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Magical - but my least favourite This is admittedly my least favourite novel in the series, but as it continues to be one of my favourite series over a decade later, it can be put in context. The world continues to delight. It grows with the characters and I was hungry for every new fact, face or spell. My main annoyance was with Harry. He was a sullen, angry, pouting, entitled teen for the majority of the novel. Though this is understandable, after all he is a teen, without parents, and marked for death by He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. It still bothered me, and as the novel is told through his eyes, there is no escaping him. Fortunately the remaining characters were as delightful as ever. I laughed, I cried, and came back for more.
Date published: 2018-03-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must read My copy of this book is extremely worn out because of the amount of times I have read this book, a favourite in the series for sure!
Date published: 2018-03-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from plot thickens a lot is revealed, exciting turns and twists in the plot.
Date published: 2018-03-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epic Solidifies the plot more and more, an excellent and original addition. By the time you get to this book though, it's unlikely that you'll be able to stop reading, anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Series! I've read and loved the entire series and can't wait for my kids to read it too!
Date published: 2018-02-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tearjerker Slightly slow in the beginning, but an absolute tearjerker. Amazing build up of anticipation and great portrayal of action. Order of the Phoenix is my favourite book of the series after Prisoner of Azkaban.
Date published: 2018-02-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starts slow, but keep going Starts a bit slow, but then becomes amazing and is so worth it!
Date published: 2018-02-10
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Least Favourite of the Series This is definitely my least favourite of the Harry Potter books. Harry is moody and very angsty, and although it's understandable why, it's annoying to read at parts. I don't like a lot of the new characters and I'm not a huge fan of the ending.
Date published: 2018-01-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the best but still very good This book Harry is moody but it's still pretty good.
Date published: 2018-01-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Perfection! I adore this series. J K Rowling's storytelling is perfect, and of course, this book is amazing as are all the books in this series. I don't have any critisism, she really can do no wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mesmerizing! Absolutely intriguing and action-packed!
Date published: 2018-01-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! The Order of the Phoenix was simply amazing. The story of the series so far is basically the same as the movies, but there is just so much more that was left out. It has so much more depth than I thought, and I was impressed enough as it was with the movies. It's like discovering a whole new world within a world. And there were so many little questions left open, and so many little things I didn't understand after watching the movie, but everything made sense and came together in the end of the book. I also have to comment on JK's writing style. It is simplified for younger readers, but it makes it a real joy to read. It's like a soothing treat for my brain. It's so easy and even fun to read. Although it makes it somewhat difficult to go back to adult novels after reading this. And I really enjoy the clever way she narrates, like the narrator lives in Harry Potter's world, and makes comparisons to things that only exist in the book. A real treat to read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Order of the pheonix <3 This book was the first harry potter book I ever read. It's the largest of all the harry potter books, and offers more insight into Harry's mind than any other. It's fascinating, deep, and shows the painful, misunderstood transition to teenage-hood so well: harry, ron and hermione are no longer children. Plus, its the funniest!!
Date published: 2017-12-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for all ages This book while somewhat darker than the ones before is still great for all ages and i loved getting to explore more of the world Rowling has created

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing it's been 20 years for Harry Potter, and it is good to read it again
Date published: 2017-12-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Amazing! Spoilers present. Harry is in his fifth year at Hogwarts, but Rowling hasn't run out of ideas in the Order of the Phoenix. As Harry continues to grow older and mature, the story gets deeper and more involved, as well as darker. Yes, this book is the longest of them all, but I found that the story captivates you so well that the length doesn't become tedious. I never felt that the story was dragging on. I love the idea of Dumbledore's Army! Umbridge completely overturns Hogwarts, and though she is a horrible character, she is actually relatable and rather a necessary addition to the story. Sirius feature a lot more in this book, revealing his personality further. Harry is meeting the bad side of the wizarding world now, as many people do not believe his stories about You-Know-Who. The Ministry of Magic send someone to Hogwarts to keep things under control, but this proves bad for the entire school. At the same time, Harry is under mental attack from Voldemort, his love life takes a turn, and he has to take a step of responsibility to protect many around him. He discovers new information about himself and his enemy, and begins to fulfill his destiny. This book introduces new characters, new places, and a new year at Hogwarts. #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Complex, layered, and thoroughly magical J.K. Rowling expands Harry Potter's world of witches and wizards tenfold in the fifth book of her series. There is so much packed into this book, each chapter is more intriguing and revealing than the last. I really enjoyed the inception and development of Dumbledore's Army throughout the book, as well as the unwavering loyalty that the characters demonstrated towards each other. Excellent book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Order of the Phoenix I found that this book marked a transition into much darker themes for the Harry Potter series. Really great book. Not everyone likes this one but it is important to the development of the characters and the plot. Must read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from loved it ! I know alot of people say they dont like this one, but I feel like it shows important characteristics about Harry. People feel like Harry is angry and upset the whole book but I think its very important for his character. For readers to read that part of him makes him a real and relatable character.
Date published: 2017-11-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I hate Umbridge While I know that this is across the board, I would like to say that the creation of the character was brilliant. It's hard to create a character that -everyone- hates so much, inspiring that powerful an emotion? Wonderful writing!
Date published: 2017-11-06

Date published: 2017-10-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Important I know a lot of people dislike this one because of how angry and miserable Harry is at everyone around him. But I feel like it's such an important character development arch. In any case, the storyline is still super interesting and crucial to the overall journey.
Date published: 2017-10-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still good but... Probably my 2nd least favorite of the Potter novels after Chamber of Secrets. Harry is very angry and aggressive in this book and makes him less likable as a character. #staffreviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strangely Realistic As the series goes on, the darker underlying themes become more and more evident. The problems in the magical world mirror the ones in our world. It is nice to see this series mature.
Date published: 2017-10-10
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favourite of the Series Although I'm not entirely sure that I'll ever forgive JK Rowling for (spoiler alert) killing off Serius Black at the end of this book, it was undeniably my favourite of the series. The plot begins to really take a darker turn, beloved characters die and it ups the stakes because Harry is faced with the real loss of a father figure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay. . . This was my least favorite book in the series. It was slow moving, although suspenseful. I like the background information about all the characters, especially Snape, Ginny and Neville. To be honest, if I knew the book was this boring, I just would read the last 3 chapters as that's where the most information was. I only recommend it because it is mart of the series.
Date published: 2017-09-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always Absolutely love the series, however, this is my least favourite book because it is rather slow moving. With that being said I love that we get to see Severus more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and this is a book that you will want to have your full attention on. It seems a lot darker than the other books, but so many things happen in it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix This is the longest book in the series but it is a cracking read, with so much going on and the pace once again picking up from the first page. This book really explores Harry's potential and his past, which opens up more surprises than you would think. The battle scenes are very complex and you may find yourself having to re-read them in order to get your head 'round what is happening, but as always, JK Rowling makes your commitment more than worthwhile. This might be a harder read for younger children than previous books but it is no less enjoyable and continues to build the suspense of the story. There are some wonderful touches, Sirius Black's family home, where Harry, Hermione and Ron hide out when being pursued by the Ministry of Magic being one and we once again see much loved characters such as Remus Lupin. This book is very dark in places and we see that our hero isn't infallible, giving him yet another dimension and allowing us to identify with his struggles. There is humour also so it's certainly not all doom and gloom. An excellent book and wonderfully engrossing read. Creating an entire society with laws, governments, thousands of citizens, as well as dramatic events and problems, while managing to keep all the details straight cannot be easy. Also in this book you can truly see how the characters are growing and changing with the times. Harry's rage, while at first annoying and unwelcome, later shows the response of any humane person. He is worried about the safety of his friends, he is cut off from any useful information, he is put under enormous pressure in preparation for O.W.L.s, he is being called a liar, many beliefs and ideals he has clung to for support have recently been crushed, and much more. Perhaps it is just me but under those circumstances I'd be upset and full of rage too.Overall, obviously 5/5 for the construction of the story, the character development, and just my love for the series overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Book 5 In my opinion this book marked a major turning point in the series. When I re-read it now it feels less like it's only for children and I feel that we can all learn a lot from this book in particular.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!!! Jk Rowling once again delivers pure brilliance in her writing. Harry lost his godfather the only parent he had left, and during this book he experiences the exact emotions most humans go through when having lost a loved one. Not to mention Umbridge, ughhh. This was such an amazing book, a great addition to the series.

This book is much more mature, and the characters are pushed into the realizations of just how much danger they are all in. These books are great for all ages because there is always a character that you can identify with. #plumreview
