Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my son's life No kidding. Followed the fever instructions to the letter and got him to the hospital in time to save his life from invasive group A strep. I give this book to every new parent I've ever known.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Excellent Resource for parents This is an excellent book. I bought it on the recommendation of a number of people and it's worth its weight in gold. If you don't want to run to your doctor for every little sniffle this book will teach you all about everything. Ear infections, the dangers of xrays, teething, everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must-read for parents of young children This book changed my understanding of my child's body's ability to fight off illnesses and also changed the role my doctor plays in our lives. Dr. Mendelsohn's book is easy to read and understand, it is full of great advice on how to handle your child's illnesses and tells you how to determine whether a trip to the doctor is necessary, or even safe. If you worry about the rampant use of antibiotics, vaccines and other medical interventions, this book will answer your questions and help you to decide what is best for your child's health. The parent has enough information in this book so that s/he is less dependant on the doctor as his/her sole source of information. It was a great read and a real eye-opener.
