#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts opens the door to one woman’s search for truth and passion in the first Key Trilogy novel.

Malory Price’s life plan has hit a snag. She’s in danger of losing her job managing an art gallery in Pleasant Valley, Pennsylvania. A welcome distraction comes in the form of an invitation to a cocktail party at Warrior’s Peak, an infamous estate overlooking the town. But no one else she knows has been invited…

There are only two other guests: Dana Steele, a librarian, and Zoe McCourt, a single mother. On the surface, it seems the women have nothing in common, until their mysterious hosts tell them a story—and offer them a challenge.

Legend has it that the souls of three demigoddesses—one an artist, one a bard, and one a warrior—have been locked in a box that has three keys. Now it’s up to Malory and the others to find the keys. Their reward: a million dollars each.

It all seems too bizarre to be true. But none of them can ignore the financial windfall they stand to gain. And now Malory—with her soul of an artist and eye for beauty—must find her key first. She soon discovers that whatever locked the souls away is dark, powerful, and greedy…and it doesn’t want the women to win.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Key of Light (Key Trilogy #1) by Nora Roberts As the first book in the series, Key of Light did the job: it set the story arc up, introduced all the main characters and, in the end, wrapped up the first couple's love story in a nice HEA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great start! A captivating new trilogy by Nora Roberts. I couldn't wait to dive into this one, and then I couldn't wait to get my hands on the next ones. It was a great read, and I have passed it on to many more people who have enjoyed it as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was okay I enjoyed the mundane, day-to-day scenes, more than the supernatural storyline.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We Love Nora ! This book was my first ever Nora Roberts book. If you like mythology and love then you have found your next read. This is the first book to the Key Trilogy. After reading the trilogy I'm a true Nora Roberts fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A series to read and re-read I happily admit I have read this trilogy (this is the first book of the series) a number of times and I never get tired of it. It's like greeting old friends! The characters are so unique and the premise, while firm in reality, quickly develop to include the mythical in an "it could so happen to me" sort of way. In my opinion, no one can create characters and write such wonderful dialogue like Nora Roberts. This series is by far my favourite. While very much a love story, it is more about friendship and believing in yourself, and in magic. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hooked! Bought two of the books for my beach holiday and started reading before I even left for the airport, I can't put it down. I am so hooked on this trilogy and I am already half way through book one. Trying to force myself to pack it in my suitcase, or I will have nothing to read when I hit the beach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so surprised This was a book from a friend who cleaned out a house....wasn't sure about it but had nothing else to read. Once I started reading, I couldn't put this book down. It wasn't just the steamy sex scenes in the book but also the mystery to the book and the plot. I need to read the next 2 now lol.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Who doesn't love a good sacred quest?! I love a good "sacred quest" [who doesn't?] and when you make it a Celtic sacred quest, then add in Nora Roberts as the author, well, I'm hooked. When three women - Mallory, Dana and Zoe - who have never met one another before receive mysterious invitations to a party at the huge secluded mansion up the hill, where they meet the beautiful Rowena and the dark and brooding Pitt, they have no idea the evening will end with an choice, a challenge and a risk that could change all their lives. The women are told that they have been chosen to search for three keys which will unlock the magical prison holding the three daughters of a magical king who married a mortal. When the king took a mortal bride and sired three daughters, some of his magical subjects turned away and built a parallel court. The self-proclaimed king of that false court took advantage of a moment of inattention on the part of the teacher and the warrior charged with protecting the princesses and cast the spell that imprisoned them. Because the true magical king seemed to set such store by mortals, the evil sorcerer's spell was set so that only three mortal women could break it and set the princesses free by finding the hidden keys. The terms of the quest: the women must all agree to participate, they are given $25,000 each just for agreeing to search, and if all three of them find their keys they will receive $1,000,000 each. But if they fail, the price is the loss of a year of their lives. What I particularly like about the story was that the quest was based - at least in this first part of the trilogy - on the courage, the loyalty, the strength and the character of the three women, and not about love for a man [although that is part of the story too - after all this IS a Nora Roberts book!]. Mallory, Dana and Zoe are real women, with challenges and issues and problems, and despite all that they are smart and funny and spunky heroines that you can't help but like. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the second and final installments of this trilogy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reader Sept. 2005 This is an awesome story that brings you into a world where good still fights evil and wins. After reading one book, which was a delightful gift, I had to find the others in this wonderful series and satisfy my need to know how the heroines accomplish the path that they are destanded to travel. Since escaping into this world, I have passed my books on to many friends to read, suggested it for gifts, and RE-read them twice. Buy them, read them, enjoy the adventure, and pass them on. Nora Roberts has done a wonderful job in bringing us this series. Thanks you Ms. Roberts for your stories!! Cindy Hay River NT
