Quinn Tyrrell has long been distrustful of his fellow Pyr and a self-reliant loner. So when he feels the firestorm that signals his destined mate, he's determined to protect and possess Sara, regardless of the cost to himself. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible I loved it. Fascinating characters, relatable main character, and the best part, Dragons that shift into good looking men. Good history of the book and great settings. An awesome book for those who love fantasy, the supernatural, action, and romance. Totally impossible to put down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kiss of fire Not sure what it is about dragons, pyr, immortality, but this is a story that is surrounded by what you believe could be and what you believe to be real.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like The Black Dagger Brotherhood, But With Dragons Instead Of Vamps “For millennia, the shape-shifting dragon warriors known as the Pyr have lived peacefully as commanders of the four elements and guardians of the earth's treasures. But now the final reckoning between the Pyr, who count humans among the earth's treasures, and the Slayers, who would eradicate both humans and the Pyr who protect them, is about to begin…” This was Quinn story. Quinn is known as the “Smith” because of his ability to work with the earth and fire. He has been on his own since the murders of his family and his mentor. He’s spent his life in solitude fearing that anyone who gets close will lose their life because of him. That is until the mating call known as the “Firestorm” occurs drawing Quinn to his destined mate; Sara. Sara is a woman who has lived a life with just as much loss as Quinn. She not only fears the world that she believed once to be only in fairytales, but the idea of putting her already bruised heart out there. I enjoyed this book even though there were place where the story felt a bit rushed. The story was a refreshing change from the usual paranormal stories I’ve read in the past. It reminded me A LOT of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward. I look forward to reading Donovan’s story in“Kiss of Fury”.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hooked! I love that this series is about dragon shifters. Dragons seem magical and make you think about knights, treasure, and damsels in distress. I love how the dragon warriors are in a fight to protect the earth and it's treasures, and that there is a battle of good vs. evil amount the dragons. The firestorm is something that sounds wonderful and that every woman would probably love to experience, and to be call a destined mate would be the icing on the cake. This story takes you on a journey of love, protection, good vs. evil, and the greater good. Once you start reading you'll be hooked and just want to find out who will have their next firestorm.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very original At first I found it very hard to get into, mostly because it was first dragon shifter novel I have ever read. It wasn't a bad book but it wasn't amazing either. It had a great set of characters but I found that we didn't get enough time with Quinn and Sara alone. There was constantly something going on and you don't really get to explore their relationship. Although this book didn't impress me as others have, I am still however looking forward to reading the next novel, Kiss of fate, about the witty yet cocky Donovan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyed it immensely! The Pyr are dragon shape shifter's that control the 4 elements. They were created to protect the earth along with it's treasures. The Pyr are destined to find their mate amongst the humans. Evil dragons, the slayers, wish to rule the world & destroy human kind along with anyone standing in their way. This first book starts with the beginning of the final reckoning. We are introduces to various main characters and the Pyr - Human mating that was foretold during the lunar eclipse. There are of course many obstacles Quinn and Sara have to overcome for a chance at a happy ending. This book is full of romance, intrigue and adventure. I couldn’t put it down and had to read it in one sitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh La La, A Dragon You Say I loved it, every word, what could be sexier than a smoking hot man secretly housing a possessive raging dragon that screams, MINE! Yup its almost to hot to touch, the book that is. Deborah Cooke combines dragons, sexy men and gorgeous women and made one heck of a novel, as typical, said gorgeous female brings dangerous man to knees and has him eating out of the palm of her hand. He in return saves the damsel in distress, gorgeous woman that is, and is rewarded will eternal love. Sigh, isn’t it sexy getting to that final love. I look forward to the next novels to come and hope Deborah Cooke continues on with the Dragonfire series for a long time.
