Sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas.

Kitty and Ben flee The City That Never Sleeps, thinking they were finished with the dangers there, but the sadistic cult of lycanthropes and their vampire priestess have laid a curse on Kitty in revenge for her disrupting their rituals. Starting at the next full moon, danger and destruction the form of fire strikes Kitty and the pack of werewolves she's sworn to protect.

She enlists the help of a group of TV paranormal investigators - one of whom has real psychic abilities - to help her get to the bottom of the curse that's been laid on her. Rick, the Master vampire of Denver, believes a deeper plot lies behind the curse, and he and Kitty argue about whether or not to accept the help of a professional demon hunter - and vampire - named Roman, who arrives a little too conveniently in the nick of time.

Unable to rely on Rick, and unwilling to accept Roman's offer of help for a price, Kitty and her band of allies, including Vegas magician Odysseus Grant and Kitty's own radio audience, mount a trap for the supernatural being behind the curse, a destructive force summoned by the vengeful cult, a supernatural being that none of them ever thought to face.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Always a Pleasure A wee peak at Cormac in this story practically had me squeeing like a school girl. It wasn't substantial but I'm hoping it was a hint of things to come. I would be so disappointed if it was just a plot device to work him in and allow us to see how he was doing but never touched on again. We also got to see some of the pack dynamics now that Kitty and Ben are in charge. This is really important to their universe, so I'm glad Vaughn worked that in rather than just saying "Well, they're in charge now and everything is great." As a bonus, I also loved the Paranormal PI bit. It reminded me of Sam and Dean from Supernatural pairing up with Ghostfacers. A lot less goofy in this book, but still blending the reality with reality TV. Fun and I hope we actually get to see those characters again. Great all around and I'm glad I never get bored of reading this series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Starting to Get Monotonous I've been reading the Kitty series since it first came out and loved every one. However, this latest installment was a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong - I liked it and I'll continue to read the series. But am I the only one who thinks that the story line is becoming a little bit monotonous? This is the thing I always fear when I find a new series that I love. Some authors can pump out book after book and keep the plot and characters fresh (JD Robb and Rachel Caine, to name a few) but more often than not I find myself losing interest and wishing that the author would just put the series to bed already. I was a touch disappointed in "Kitty Raises Hell", worried that this series is beginning the long downward spiral into boring. Should you read this book? Yes. Will I read the next one? You bet. But in the meantime, I'll keep hoping that the next book is better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Yet This series has really turned into a great one. Vaughn has made good on her promising start with her first book Kitty and the Midnight Hour and has delivered with each successive book. This time round we find Kitty back home after her deadly time in Vegas. Unfortunately, death seems to have followed her home. Something is stalking her, putting her pack and her town in danger. Luckily, she has her friend Rick, the Master Vampire of Denver, to help.....or does she? When a mysterious vampire comes to town offering to help Kitty and Rick, Rick refuses to cooperate leaving Kitty feeling betrayed. Can she stop the menace before anyone else dies? This book has lots of action, typical Kitty humour and a little bit of lovin' between Kitty and Ben. I love how their relationship has developed. Even though they are married, it doesn't have to mean they are joined at the hip or even agree all the time. I like the way Vaughn portrays the give and take of their relationship. I also like how Kitty continues to come into her own, proving she is indeed the alpha. She's come a long way from being the bottom of the pack.
