Rated 3 out of 5 by from Title grabs you and peaks your interest. This was a well thought out book, however, I found most of it common sense already applied throughout life. I would have liked to have had more real life examples as I found most of the examples given a bit too simplistic and designed to fit the plan too perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Title grabs you and peaks your interest. Say what you will about him, Dr. Phil is not all bad. I find with his books you have to take away what works for you. In my case, it was confirming that some people in my life are indeed toxic. I also found this was a great book to start the year off with to refocus on looking ahead.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting read Phil is definitely focusing this book more towards women readers, that being said it does provide lots of insight into being smart in todays society for anyone. With a little marketing of his other books thrown in for a bit of seasoning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take a new look at our world I have been watching Dr. Phil for a few years now and this book goes hand in hand with the 2012/2013 season. This book will open your eyes to the way some of the most difficult people in you life think and behave. Then carries you through to how to address those fears and traits that are blocking you from achieving your goals and ends with a new way to look at life as a whole. He also has some tips for better parenting. He sells this as the new book of rules to dealing with our world as it is today, not the one our parents grew up in. Things have changed so rapidly in our world and this book can help you get up to speed. I highly recommend this book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Book For Real Life This book was recommended by my doctor, and I agree that it is a good book for people dealing with real life and the "nasties" out there. I did find that it seems that the author felt he had to make the book bigger by adding an introduction, and the first chapters pretty much repeat what is in the introduction, so it gets quite repetitive, and the beginning of the book has no "meat" in it, but many many words and pages about why he decided to write this book. This is a bit tedious and I would have appreciated his getting to the point faster, even if the book was thinner.
