Rated 5 out of 5 by from omg LOVED IT....LOVED ALL THE BOOKS I grew up faithfully watching this lovely famly on tv and i was probably about laura's age back in the day. I admired her pluckiness as a character, she didn't just take yes for an answer, she was the one to confront her father (like me) so i identified a lot with her. mary was the sweeter older sister who went blind and then there was the baby, Carrie who didn't say much. I loved how loving the famly was and all the antic of the neighbours (espeically Nelly!!)...so yes i read this book and would definitely recommend to young readers. very adventurous and lots of humour and good family values.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A much loved classic As I re-read this classic series I am reminded of my original impression of the Little House books, from my early childhood. I remember my teacher reading this book to my class, introducing me to the pioneers and how they lived all those years ago. I remember having such strong emotions, as the Ingalls family faced danger on the open prairie. If only I could go back and re-live that experience of reading these books for the first time. After all these years I am sad to say that I didn’t quite have the same reaction as I once had about Little House on the Prairie. I attribute this to maturity and a better knowledge of historical time periods. I tried not to read too far into the realities of their circumstances though as I really did want to enjoy the story. I still found it fascinating how they built their home and lived off the land, just like I did as a child. And I also still believe that this is a classic series that should be passed down for many more generations to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ~*~An Epic of Great Proportion~*~ I recently read 'Little House on the Prairie' and was amazed at at how wonderfully written it was. It told the story of Laura Ingalls Wilder, which she herself wrote. Well, I was reading it i couldn't believe how descriptive it was. When I had finished the book I felt as though Laura was a close friend, I felt as though i have known her my entire life. It was written in such a way that I could actually feel what she felt, whenever she was scared, I could feel her fear. I absoulutly loved this book and I recommend it to everyone, doesn't matter your age. I'd give it 10 stars but i could only give it 5. I loved this book, it is my favorite book and I hope many others enjoy this book as much as I have!!
