A Psy/Changeling novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Shards of Hope, Shield of Winter, and Heart of Obsidian..."the alpha author of paranormal romance" (Booklist).

A ghost returns from a leopard changeling’s past, making him question everything—even his base animal instincts…

Clay Bennett is a powerful DarkRiver sentinel, but he grew up in the slums with his human mother, never knowing his changeling father. As a young boy without the bonds of Pack, he tried to stifle his animal nature. He failed…and committed the most extreme act of violence, killing a man and losing his best friend, Talin, in the bloody aftermath. Everything good in him died the day he was told that she, too, was dead.

Talin McKade barely survived a childhood drenched in bloodshed and terror. Now a new nightmare is stalking her life—the street children she works to protect are disappearing and turning up dead. Determined to keep them safe, she unlocks the darkest secret in her heart and returns to ask the help of the strongest man she knows...

Clay lost Talin once. He will not let her go again, his hunger to possess her, a clawing need born of the leopard within. As they race to save the innocent, Clay and Talin must face the violent truths of their past…or lose everything that ever mattered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Story Clay, a changeling, didn't have an easy childhood but his best friend and the girl he saw as his, Talin, was the only thing that kept him going. When Clay did the only thing he could to protect Talin when they were young was to kill her step-father before he killed her, Talin was left terrified by what she had witnessed and later in life made Clay believe she was dead. When Talin comes back into Clay's life, he is beside himself that she is alive and that she lied to him about her death, and that she fears him. But Talin's only hope in finding some missing kids before they are killed is Clay. They are both attracted to each other, and his cat wants to claim her as his mate. She tries to resist him because she fears after sex that their friendship will dissolve, and their friendship means more to her than to ruin it in the heat of the moment. You are in for a ride in this book. You are right along with them on their journey to rescue the kids that were kidnapped, and their journey at rekindling their friendship and possibly more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I love this series! Two children fell in love at a young age but separated, only to be reunited in the future under an extreme situation. Tension sets in and pressure mounts. The only thing that bothered me in this novel is the Talin was so hung up on the past that she didn’t see the present. I can understand how a past situation can trauma you but this just went on and on…it just got boring after awhile. But overall I really enjoyed the book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Awesome Book Nalini Singh writes a really different spin on a paranormal romance, but once again she pulled it off. In Mine To Possess she had an awesome story line and a great amount of suspense. I absolutely loved the main characters and look forward to the next book in the series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cant wait for next installment After receiving this book as an ARC I immediately started to read it. I loved Clay in this book as I have been waiting for his book for ages, Tally makes a fitting mate for him, much to my everlasting disapointment and the relationship between the two is not at all tried or rubbing. Without spoiling the book I recommend this book to all of Nalini's faithful readers as she doesn't disappoint. New readers could begin the series here but I would recommend reading the subsequent books first. All in all this book was very good.
