No one gets in without being asked. And with her untamable hair, large forehead, and gawky body, Tookie De La Crème isn’t expecting an invitation. Modelland—the exclusive, mysterious place on top of the mountain—never dares to make an appearance in her dreams.

But someone has plans for Tookie. Before she can blink her mismatched eyes, Tookie finds herself in the very place every girl in the world obsesses about. And three unlikely girls have joined her.

Only seven extraordinary young women become Intoxibellas each year. Famous. Worshipped. Magical. What happens to those who don’t make it? Well, no one really speaks of that. Some things are better left unsaid.

Thrown into a world where she doesn’t seem to belong, Tookie glimpses a future that could be hers—if she survives the beastly Catwalk Corridor and terrifying Thigh-High Boot Camp. Along the way, she learns all about friendship, courage, laughter and what it feels like to start to believe in yourself.

When you enter the fantastical world of Modelland, you'll see that Tookie was inspired by Tyra’s life as a supermodel. All those crazy and wild adventures Tookie has with her friends? Some of them were ripped straight from the headlines of Tyra’s life! Tyra knows all about beauty and fashion and fierceness, and she shares everything here in MODELLAND. It’s fun, zany, and 100 bazillion-percent Tyra.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising When I first heard about Modelland I figured the storyline would be somewhat along the lines of ANTM but once I started reading I realized that it was completely different than what I had expected. There were some things that were a little odd but I imagine that having been invovled in modelling for so long this is what it must seem like in your head at certain times. I absolutely loved all of the unexpected ups and downs and how extreme each situation could become at the drop of a hat. I can't wait for Modelland 2 and I know this sounds corny but as someone who is an aspiring writer I think this was an amazing way to break into the writing world and I can only hope to be half as brilliant!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Modelland To be honest I didn't really know what to expect from this book. But since I like Tyra Banks and America's Next Top Model I thought I would give it a shot. This book was actually very entertaining and very, very well written. It is about a girl who feels worthless trying to find a place for herself in the world. Banks uses a lot of modeling scenarios and turns them into fun challenges or situations. The play-on-words in this book was simply hilarious. In saying that I really did like the book, but I also think this was because it contained a lot of fantasy elements that didn't seem weird to me. For someone who isn't used to the fantasy genre they may not like it as much.
