Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyed this, insightful! Read this fairly quickly. Although it has a lot of reference to religion (which I am not so super religious) I found this book to be insightful and have great take away lessons, helpful to apply in everyday life. I would lend to a friend who need to enhance their mindset to a more positive thinking and living way. #plumreview

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Christian book about positive thinking Personally I didn't care for the Christian parts because it is not part of my beliefs, but I did find that the book had some very interesting examples of real life stories and useful suggestions for anyone of any faith or religion, to learn from, in order to think more positively. Lessons include making lists of inspiring quotes, repeating peaceful words, using vizualisation, making it a habit to be happy, having a positive vocabulary, slowing down and relaxing, having expectation instead of doubt, getting people to like you, repleneshing energy, changing, filling your mind with positive thoughts, etc... For Christians there's talk of the power of prayer, having faith, establishing a partnership with God, reading the bible, and so on...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Changing This book changed my life and it could change yours too in many more ways than you may think. It was written to help people live more happy and rewarding lives through positive thinking and how powerful the mind it. The chapters usually begin with Norman Vincent Peale telling a story of a real life situation he encountered. The stories pertain to the topic of the chapter and he goes through the steps and techniques to follow. Most of the information is very practical I find, but very powerful and easy to use. I use to have very low self-esteem and a very negative outlook on life. I picked up this book and started to realize how powerful the mind can be and how my low self-esteem and self confidence was all in my head. This book taught me how to think positively in all aspects of life and be confident without having to think about it. Peale relates a lot of the teachings in this book to the bible. He instructs the reader to recite powerful bible passages when dealing with certain problems or issues they are facing in their lives (trust me they really work!). Overall I think this is a book to show you how to remove doubt. There are only two kinds of thoughts: Negative and positive, when you remove your negative thought your left with one thing only, positive thoughts which generate a powerful mind(He will explain exactly how to achieve this way of thinking). I think anyone can learn from this book even if you are already a positive thinker, to better yourself as a human being.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed This may be a great book for a Christian reader. It was recommended by my child's physician, who loved it and told me that the book used spirituality and faith as a basis for building power and positive thinking. I was very disappointed to find that it quoted the Bible in many places, and was centered around Christianity.
