Pretty Dead

by FRANCESCA LIA BLOCK

HARPERCOLLINS PUBLISHERS | October 27, 2010 | Hardcover

Pretty Dead is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.

People pity me, but mostly they feel envy. I have all the luxury and freedom a girl my age could want.

Something is happening to Charlotte Emerson. Like the fires that are ravaging the hills of Los Angeles, it consumes her from the inside out. But whether it is her eternal loneliness, the memory of her brother, the return of her first love, or the brooding, magnetic Jared—she cannot say. What if it's something more . . .

Something to do with the sudden tear in her perfect nails. The heat she feels when she's with Jared. The blood rushing once again to her cheeks and throughout her veins.

For Charlotte is a vampire, witness to almost a century's worth of death and destruction. But not since she was a human girl has mortality touched her.

In what way will you be transformed?

Until now.

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ~Unique~ I thought this book was great. Not many bland moments and it was very focused. Interested pretty much the whole way through. I'm very happy about this considering I only decided to read this book because of the cover ;D I liked the characters, I think they developed well, and the detail was great but maybe Francesca could of included some different description words because she used the same ones over and over again. Overall, I thought it was great, of course it wasn't the best book I've ever read, but I think it was nice for a short light read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not What I Thought...In A Good Way This book was so easy to read, it took me no time at all. But it was not what I thought, I'm so used to generic teen love stories but this was kind of twisted and backwards.
