A living pop culture legend and one of American film and television's most enduring stars, William Shatner will forever be associated with the role of James T. Kirk, captain of the starship Enterprise. Star Trek Memories is Shatner's classic behind-the-scenes look at the legendary series that continues to put forth movies, books, and series spin-offs decades after the last episode aired. A television phenomenon that suffered from shaky ratings from its first broadcast in 1966 through its entire run, Star Trek nevertheless exploded into a worldwide, billion-dollar industry. Avid Trekkers who were onboard at the launch, as well as fans of the later Trek incarnations, will be delighted with this eye-opening, eminently fascinating "captain's log" from James Kirk himself.

William Shatner's career as an actor, director, producer, screenwriter, recording artist, author, and horseman has spanned more than fifty years. One of pop culture's most recognizable figures, he is also a major Hollywood philanthropist. Shatner and his wife and three married children live in Los Angeles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Read I actually read this when I was younger and obsessed with the original Star Trek back in the 90s. It was interesting to get some more information on the man and what he was doing in the years between the original series and the revival in film

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Writing - An Absolute for Any Bookshelf Outstanding writing by Mr. Shatner! Brilliant, witty and insightful reading. Each chapter takes you on a voyage reliving the episodes. Fascinatingt behind the scenes, the technical side of the set development and creative genius of Gene Roddenberry. Like other readers, I found myself laughing out loud, and I must admit reading way into the night just to finish a chapter! If you want any spoilers, you have to pick up this book. Without a doubt one of favorite books. A perfect book where "No one has gone before". A must for any Trekie fans or those who love a great read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A milestone in entertainment history! This is a definite 5+++ Of all the books I've read so far in 2010, this is one of the best, if not THE BEST - humorous, insightful, 'historic' & just bloody good fun! STM even tore me away from my 1st love - mysteries and I was laughing & chuckling all the way. Anyone even mildly interested in: entertainment history, science fiction, technology..., should definitely read this one. Roddenberry was far ahead of his time.
