Enter a world of timeless seduction, of ancient intrigue and modern-day passion. Enter the dazzling world of Karen Marie Moning, whose acclaimed Highlander novels have captivated readers, spanning the continents and the centuries, bringing ancient Scotland vividly to life. In a novel brimming with time-travel adventure and sensual heat, the bestselling author of The Dark Highlander delivers a love story that will hold you in thrall—and a hero you will most certainly never forget.

BEWARE: lethally seductive alpha male of immense strength, do not look at him. Do not touch him. Do not be tempted. Do not be seduced.

With his long, black hair and dark, mesmerizing eyes, Adam Black is Trouble with a capital T. Immortal, arrogant, and intensely sensual, he is the consummate seducer, free to roam across time and continents in pursuit of his insatiable desires. That is, until a curse strips him of his immortality and makes him invisible, a cruel fate for so irresistible a man. With his very life at stake, Adam’s only hope for survival is in the hands of the one woman who can actually see him.

Enter law student Gabrielle O’Callaghan, who is cursed with the ability to see both worlds: Mortal and Faery. From the moment she lays eyes on this stunning male, Gabby is certain of one thing: He could be her undoing. Thus begins a long, dangerous seduction. Because despite his powerful strength and unquenchable hungers, Adam refuses to take a woman by force. Instead, he will tease his way into Gabby’s bed and make her want him just as he wants her.

Now, no matter how hard Gabby tries to avoid him, Adam is everywhere, invisible to all but her—perched atop her office cubicle in too-tight jeans, whispering softly from behind the stacks of the law library, stealing her breath away with his knowing smile…all the while tempting her with the promise of unimaginable pleasure in his arms. But soon danger will intrude on this sensual dance. For as Adam’s quest to regain his immortality plunges them into a world of timeless magic and the deadly politics of the Faery queen’s court, the price of surrender could be their very lives. Unless they can thwart the conspiracy that threatens both mortal and Faery realms…and give them a shot at a destiny few mortals ever know: glorious, wondrous, endless love.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another Awesome Addition This is book six in the Highlanders series and this book is on Adam Black and Gabrielle, this was a great addition to the series and I LOVED the fact that Adam, got a book, for people that have read this series we all know who Adam is and he has always been an interesting character to say the least and I'm happy we got to read a book on him. Both Adam and Gabby were great and their chemistry was off the wall and I just loved the book. Overall awesome book again check it out if you haven't already read this series. :0)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sixth book of the Highlander series doesn't disappoint This is the 6th book of KMM's Highlander Series which tells the story of Adam and Gabrielle's romance. I would recommend reading them in order as Adam's character has played a role in at least a couple of the previous books, which consequently leads to his story in this book. You see, the Seelie Fae Adam Black has a bit of a problem. His meddling with mortal humans landed him with a punishment... a curse to be stuck without his immortality in the world of mortals, and invisible no less! It's a great story and you will get to see Drustan and Dageus again, so be sure to read those stories as well if you haven't already (books 4 and 5).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adam Black always has something up his sleeve! Adam Black, the rogue Fairy has been made to pay for his crimes in the worse way imaginable. His Queen has make Adam a human, a mortal. Adam will do anything to be made immortal again; he just needs to be able to speak directly with the Queen. Adam stubbles upon Gabrielle (a Sidhe-seer). Gabby can see the Faery. As soon as Adam finds Gabby he wants her help, but he is passionately attracted to her. Adam wants Gabby to give a message to the Queen through one of the other Faery for him. On there first time at trying the couple attract the Hunters lead by Darroc. Darroc and Adam had a falling out eons ago. Darroc is trying to find Adam to kill him while Adam is still out of favour from the Queen. With Gabby’s life in danger also, Adam desides to find the MacKelter twins in Scotland for help. Once is Scotland the couple are quickly welcomed into the home of the Mackelter’s and the twin’s wives quickly befriend Gabby. The two women try and make Gabby feel welcome and more open to her true feelings for Adam. Adam does still not understand the love that is growing inside him for Gabby. Immortals just don’t have the same connections for people that the mortal do. Adam makes up his mind to give Gabby the immortal elixir so that he will be his always. While on the MacKelter estate Darroc cannot get to the couple, but the Queen will not believe that Darroc is betraying her without concrete proof. Once they leave the compound the are set upon by Darroc and Adam is mortally wounded and then simply disappears. Gabby is left to pick up the pieces. It is only when she reads the revised “Adam” version of the book of Adam that she reads that he will never love a human women again. Gabby’s depression worsens. Her one true love never loved her back, or so she believes. Adam Black is one mischievous Farey that you never know what he will do! This is the book six, and a great deal of fun to see Adam go through similar hardships that he put many others through. I like that Adam found himself with Gabby. ***SPOILER*** Loved the ending where the Farey Queen visits the couples eldest child and says that Adam now has the mortal glow. It is the final piece that makes Adam human and able to say the Druid vows that will connect Gabby and Adam into eternity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way better than the Fever series The first book I read by Moning was Darkfever and I HATED it. But one day while at my local used bookstore I pick up a copy of this book and read the back. It seemed interesting and because it was was cheap I decided to give it a go and I was glad I did. This is the story of Adam Black a punished faery prince who will do anything to get his powers back. The only one who can help him or even see him is a sidhe seer named Gabby who has been taught all her life to pretend never to see the "evil" race. Despite all the lessons, Gabby is forced to help the sexy highlander get his life back and help save the faery queen. The only trouble is Gabby fears that if she doesn't lose her life to the evil Durroc, she'll lose her heart to Adam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "You're not falling for me, are you, Irish?" The banter kept me on the edge of my seat, grinning like an idiot on the city bus as I turned pages and just kept grinning wider and wider. Whuh! The seduction play was just amazing. And funny. And witty. And -- all right, I'll say it! -- sexy as whoa. From Adam and Gabby's first encounter, right up to the end. A breezy read, sparkling with real emotions, which I believe are central to this book especially. I'll wager you won't be able to put this book down once you've started. Promised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious This is the best book of the Highlander series so far. It is the darkest one Moning has written and it gives it a lot more depth. If you're looking for just the typical fluffy romantic novel, this is definitely not for you. The Highlander books are all unique combinations of romance, fantasy, and mystery, that draw you in and keep you entertained from beginning to end.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved it! I have never been a lover of Romance. Karen Moning does a fantasic job of melding romance with fantasy which happens to be my genre of choice. Her characters are believable. The fantasy aspects are well woven in with the romance. And the steamy highlanders....well that's a bonus. I would definetly recommend this book.

Cincinnati, Ohio Several months later . . .Chapter OneSummer, Gabrielle O’Callaghan brooded—always her favorite season—had absolutely sucked this year.Unlocking her car, she got in and slipped off her sunglasses. Shrugging out of her suit jacket, she nudged off her heels and took slow, deep breaths. Whatever their unfathomable reason for choosing the Tri-State, they’d appeared in droves in early June, and had been ruining her summer ever since. And pretending she didn’t see them never got any easier. With their perfect bodies, gold-velvet skin, and shimmering iridescent eyes, they were a little hard to miss. Drop-dead gorgeous, impossibly seductive, dripping pure power, the males were a walking temptation for a girl to—Brusquely she shook her head to abort that treacherous thought.
