Rated 2 out of 5 by from Recommended for insomniacs AARRRGGHHHH!! WHAT A PHENOMENALLY BORING BOOK!! I had read Left Behind and was looking forward to reading Tribulation Force thinking it would be an action adventure set in the end times. Instead, it’s a Harlequin romance for born-again Christians. Does Chloe like Buck? Will Buck as Chloe out? Who cares? Get back to the Antichrist and his nefarious deeds already. And how much more transparent could Rayford’s interest in Hattie’s “soul” be? Why do we get the distinct impression that if Hattie were not blonde and gorgeous but instead a 300-pound, middle-aged brunette she could go straight to H?! Definitely will not be reading the next installation. At such a slow pace, it is no surprise that this story spans 12 books.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review of Book #2 In this one, more prophecies from the bible are falling into place in everyday events that can even be viewed on CNN...A real world feel creeps into the series with this book. Things are just coming off of a high and odd situation of the 'Rapture' from the first book, but more sutler *yet* more disturbing events are now occuring. And through it all, the Anti-Christ is quickly setting up his worldly kingdom while the little band of Good guys are slowly moving into straticic positions that should prove both dangerous to themselves and beneficial to their cause in the long run. Charecters grow and develop even more. The become a bit more realistic. One problem. Not just with this book, but with the whole series....The story jumps from one charecters point of view to anothers, obviously nothing wrong with that. All stories do this. However, The first 5 or 6 books in this series jump between ONLY TWO charecters! Some charecters go through intense scenes later in the series that would add great flavor for the reader. But because the main POV charecters weren't present for some of these moments, they hear it second hand from the charecters that did go through it...and so do we hear it second hand. Some great scenes could have been written with great tension. A shame. But regardless of that, overall, this is truely a Fine, fine read!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE This is a excellent continuation of the series. The characters continue to grow and it follows the events in the book of Revelations, to a T. I think this is a book, that christains, and nonchristians should read. I could not put it down till I finished it. Look forward to the next in the series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! The second book in this series is a great continuation to the first book in the Left Behind series. It actaully gets stronger and more "confident" in it's direction, and has the most incredible escape scene toward to end! READ THIS BOOK! READ THIS SERIES.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Read This is a great book for anyone and everyone. Weather you are a Christain or not you will be spell bound to read how things may turn out in the end days. This book can be read and understood without even reading the first in the series (Though I recommend reading that one two) so it makes the book that much more interesting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Getting better.. The chatacter developement is better in this book than the previous one, a good grasp on how quickly events can (and probably will) happen after the rapture takes place. The sharing cookies bit was a bit corny, but overall a very good second installment in the series..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tribulation Force I was so eager to read what happens next after "Left Behind" that I bought this excellent follow-up! Definitely the best description of the end times. It was exciting and encouraging to read how Tim LaHaye/Jenkins interpreted Revelations. And why not put into print the actual description in a literal sense? I'm reading "Nicolae" the 3rd in the series and am looking forward to "Soul Harvest". The Hardcover copy of "Apollyon" is available in Langley, BC but is not yet available here. It is coming out in Softcover in August '99.

From Our Editors

The time of judgement is at hand, and Christ has arrived to separate the saved from the damned. Pilot Rayford Steele, his daughter Chloe, journalist Buck Williams and pastor Bruce Barnes gather together to study their Bibles and prepare for the end of the world — but they cannot ignore the rise of the evil Romanian despot Nicolae Carpathia who, they suspect, is none other the Antichrist himself. Tribulation Force is the story of their battle for the kingdom of Heaven, set against a backdrop of cataclysmic environmental and political disasters that threaten to destroy the world.
