Rated 4 out of 5 by from Witty This was my first Lemony Snickett book. My son started reading it and was very confused, so it became our bedtime reading book. It hooked us and we are currently on the last book of the series. At times it is laugh out loud funny. It is refreshing to read something different for a change.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lackluster A disappointment after his previous series. The plot was barely there, the characters are barely likable, and the only redeeming quality is the possibility of world building in the next book, which I won't be picking up.
